THR Sarak - There's Life After a Hip Replacement

Happy Tuesday!
You behave, missy or I'm coming after you on my way to AZ to have a word with @Fractured
Oh that's right, you wanted to come along. Well, you can't if you're not 100%......so chill.
Hope your day is boring :rotfl: It's what you need now, lol!
@SaraK

Hope you are doing OK Sara.
So hard for you I'm sure, all kidding aside.
And all kidding aside, I want you to gone that time so you will be back on the up and up.
(Tell the doc to keep his paws off of you, by the by):friends:

@Mojo333 - yes, ma'am, I'll be good. It's hard for me but easier than taking longer to recover! Another surgery to be avoided if at all possible! Instead of swing dancing tonight, I went to a wine and cheese party. There are worse things ...

Hope you are staying patient and that things are coming around.
Don't let the little things get you down.
It's all just stuff.
Hope you have a Good Day

:happyfeet:@mojo333 - Who me? I'm a perfect paragon of patience! :rotfl:

I appreciate your checking in. Things are a little better at this point but not resolved. It doesn't hurt as much when I walk but I don't have any better range of motion yet. I think it was a trick question, though, when the PT asked me if any new activities were causing pain (especially since the pain has moved).

It's possible that the pain is now "just" be bursitis but it may still be an issue with the gluteus medius where it attaches. Unfortunately, it causes pain on the right side whenever I lay on either side. Which means I'm breaking in the new recliner at night!

On the positive side, the PT (with just a smidgeon of reluctance) ok'd a bit of :happyfeet:Saturday night - subject to pain tolerance. He said it wouldn't cause any damage but I might be sore that night or the next day, but that could also give us some information on where things are at this point. Probably not ready for :catdance:though!

Paragon of Patience:loll:right.
Hope your weekend is peaceful.

Three month follow up today was not quite as in-depth on the muscle issue as I'd hoped, but I'll just have to keep in mind that the OS didn't seem concerned. He said all looks good on both hips (this was also an early 1 year follow up on the left hip). He agreed with PT that it sounded like a strain/partial tear of one of the glute muscles but didn't sound like any issue of dislocation or subluxation. He said to give it more time to heal, start exercises when PT thinks appropriate and call for appointment if not significantly better, including improvement in range of motion, in another 4-6 weeks. While he said any timeframe is purely a guess he'd hope that I'd be where he'd normally expect me to be at 3 months (90% recovery) within that 4-6 week period. Otherwise, come back in 3 months for next follow up.

Posting today's x-rays

Oohhh, can't wait to see my xrays!
Nothing like having a pain in the butt though...I mean we can't sit on our head! Take care of it Sara!

Sitting isn't too bad, luckily! Walking is better now - the limp seems to have just about gone away (after the first few steps) as long as i remember to maintain good posture so that I'm not leaning forward.

Those bionics look good to me...not that I know anything.
Hope you are not climbing the walls too bad, Sara.
Healing hugs:loveshwr:

@SaraK Just read through your thread, wow, these muscles are something for sure. I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better and are on the mend. You'll soon be dancing on a regular basis!

@AgilityDog - I view ice cream as icing from the inside out. And since Chocolate has good health properties, that's always a good way to go. And if you modify a little, rocky road has nuts for more good protein and .marshmallows are so light and airy, they can't do any harm!:loll:
