Of course you're worried. You wouldn't be normal if you weren't.
Just hang in there until August. We'll be here, to give you virtual support all the way. :friends:

In 4 more days it's all about the knee again! I'm so sick of this but have to move forward with it, the rpkr has loosened too now, I'm at the point of trying to ignore it, I just don't want to do this anymore!

JustmeT,
Glad you will be able to move forward with the patellar resurfacing in a few days. Sad to hear about the other PKR loosening :boohoo:.
I hope your vacation with your kids went well, and you had a relaxing time.

Please add your new surgery date to your signature, Thanks!

Thank you! Yes we had a fantastic vacation, the knees screamed at me every day but that was ok, my kids had an awesome time that was what this vacation was for!

I am really not ready mentally or emotionally for more knee surgery on top of more knee surgery...can't even begin to describe how I am feeling...

:console2:, It is overwhelming, we will help you get through all of this.
Very happy to hear your kids had a wonderful time on vacation :biking::surfer::realing::swim::walking:, well deserved. Hopefully next year all 3 of you will have a fantastic time.

It's good to hear from you again, Tessa. I'm glad the children had a good holiday.

We'll be here to help you through this knee revision.

:loveshwr: and :friends:

Hi Tessa, I hope everything goes well tomorrow. You wouldn't be normal if you weren't a little nervous about it:)

I totally know how you feel. Although for different issues I am getting ready for surgery #6 and #7 on my left knee since June 2015. I feel very overwhelmed with it at times but I don't have much of a choice if I want to walk. I just suck it up (as my sister says)and do what needs to be done and don't break down in front of my husband. I save that for my mother:)

It was great that you had the vacation with your kids. You will get more enjoyment next summer.

I've had the knee surgery, it was on August 3rd, early in the morning which was good, less time to think about it that day!
The patella was resurfaced, a new femoral component and a larger spacer plus some scar tissue removed. After a rough start I'm doing really well. The pain level is practically zero most of the time since Sunday, I don't even need to take any pain meds , I don't need to use crutches either. It's going much much better than I anticipated which is so so welcome!
I will need a revision of the partial in the right knee but I'm not game to get that done for a while.

Glad you are feeling better with very little pain, and doing so much better. Sounds like they did a little more than a patellar resurfacing. I agree no rush on having the PKR revised.

Here is the post op reading for you to review.

First is the reading - everybody gets a free copy of the recovery reading!

Here are the BoneSmart mantras ....
- rest, elevate, ice and take your pain meds by the clock as prescribed
- if it hurts, don't do it and don't allow anyone - especially a physiotherapist - to do it to you
- if your leg swells more or gets stiffer in the 24 hours after doing it, don't do it again
- if you won't die if it's not done, don't do it
- never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lie down, never stay awake when you can go to sleep!
- be active as much as you need to be but not more than is necessary, meaning so much that you end up being in pain, exhausted or desperate to sit down or lay down!
