Revision TKR Revision Completed...Ready to get back to my life...<

It's no wonder you feel discouraged and worn out. This has dragged on for so long.
As the others said, do go to see the revision specialist and see what he has to say. It may be that, looking at your knee with new eyes, he can see something that can be done to help. If you need to, ask him to write a few things down (I sometimes ask surgeons to draw me a picture, too), so that you can go home, assimilate what he has said, and then come to a decision.
You don't have to decide immediately. Maybe taking a break is what you need right now. Rest and refresh, but don't give up entirely.

What an emotionally exhausting year you've had! Let us know what the dr says on the 1st. You'll know what you are ready for and when you're ready.

Thank you!
It has been quite the year! The knee, which I thought was going to be fixed a year ago is worse now than it was before I had the partial 4 1/2 years ago. I don't know what else can be done?
Like everyone says, just wait until I see the revision dr on Nov. 1st.

I am off in the morning to see the OS who did my surgeries, not sure why I need to see him before I see the other doctor next week? I guess I will find out tomorrow? I'm going to this appointment with zero expectations of learning anything new, I think this guy has done what he can and it's worse now than ever it was. It may not be the hardware but who knows?

A question, I have a wee bit of an infection in/on my gum, should this be a concern?

The small gum infection should not be a concern, have you seen a dentist?
While you are at the office tomorrow, ask for copies of your x-rays so Josephine can have a look.
Not long until you see the new OS.
Let us know how it goes.

@Pumpkln
I called for an appointment with the dentist, cannot get one until the end of November!

I had forgotten about the ex rays, I will likely be getting new ones done tomorrow so I will try to remember to ask for a copy! Thank you for the reminder!

Sorry you have to wait so long for a dental appointment, guess brushing and flossing is all you can do for now.
Good luck tomorrow.

I saw the OS today...
Arthroscopy is recommended for the left to go have a look and to clean up and adhesions in there. The knee has something that seems to be catching in there somewhere.
This is the right knee's 4th anniversary but that's all it will get, I need a revision of this one as well but it won't be until the left knee is taken care of.
@Pumpkln i forgot to ask for the X-rays, maybe I will remember to get them next week when I see the revision doctor. When I was told the right knee needs a replacement, I forgot everything.

JustmeT,
I agree, take care of the left knee first. It will be interesting to see what the revision specialist has to say.
Write it down on a list to ask for the x rays.

Appointment with the revision dr on November 1st has been cancelled, I have another for November 7th.
I will have to dig a bit deeper for more patience with this...

That's a shame. Still, it's only few days longer.

Sorry to hear of the delay, like Celle says it is only a few more days later.
:console2:

Things happen for a reason! Your appointment on the 7th will be just fine!

I saw the "new" dr today, I've ended up with more questions and no answers! I am happy though that he's trying rule things out, I had blood work done to hopefully rule out infection and having a bone scan done for whatever else? He wants to test for a metal allergy as well. Also, he agrees with my OS that a scope would be the next thing to do, take a peek inside the knee because there is definitely something going on in there.
This dr also said that he tells his patients, what your knee is like at one year out is the way it's going to be, to not expect it to be anything other than it is.
Yeah, no! I don't think that's a good philosophy at all, I could be wrong but I don't agree with it. If there is something wrong and it can be fixed it should be fixed not to tell you, it's been a year now, you get what you get!

I go back on the 21st to see my OS. I'm so not sure about any of this, all I know is, I have a lot of pain in my knee, it's getting worse and as it does I'm doing less. I don't think it should be like this? I want to say I'm done with it all, finished, I don't know what else to think anymore. I'm so tired of the knee and it's pain...

He may not be saying that nothing can be done, but that whatever ROM or extension you have will be set by a year. I've heard the same thing said about the numbness, chances are where ever I'm experiencing numbness at a year is going to stay that way.

JustmeT,
Glad to hear this OS is looking further for what is going on with your TKR. Blood tests, bone scan, and allergy test. Sounds like a lot more than anyone else has done for you and your knee.
This dr also said that he tells his patients, what your knee is like at one year out is the way it's going to be, to not expect it to be anything other than it is.
You CAN continue to heal a year or more out from surgery.
Josephine continued to improve her sensation over several years. Numb area after TKR: how long will it last?
:friends:

I discovered quite by surprise that I was able to squat in the pool nearly 2 years after my TKR. I hope you're able to get some answers from your new OS.

If that's what he really meant, I don't agree with him either.
If there's anything wrong, it needs to be fixed.

I'm glad the new guy is running more tests. At least he's going to exclude other causes.

I'd advise not having the arthroscopy until all other possible causes have been ruled out.

Hugs for you. :friends: :friends: :loveshwr: I know this must be so hard for you.

I'm sorry that you still have no definitive answers to your problems with your knee. Hopefully the tests you are taking will help with the diagnosis so you will know what needs to be done.

I asked him about this pain I get that is just above my ankle, it is a sharp stabbing pain that I get there the same time I get it in my knee, I cannot put any pressure on my foot when this happens. I have no idea what it can be? He didn't even acknowledge that I asked about this.

.
I know that it can continue to heal because sorta like @KarriB I was pleasantly suprised when after a couple of years after the two partials I was able to do a full squat.
