Thank you @Hoppy Nanny, Chrissie, you are always so positive and have been a real help to me throughout my recovery roller coaster ride! @fulafoto, Bill, thanks for the encouragement. I know you are coming up soon and you are well prepared!

. This is kind of an upgraded version of heel-slides that they make us do in the beginning, except now you are using gravity and your body. This is what got me able to lift my leg up and over my other leg (eventually). Ask your PT about it, or maybe you are already doing it and not realizing it. You are doing amazing, Debbie, you will be tying that shoe like a pro in no time!
But, I wear my nikes for the gym and my walks and that is my problem!
I have been suffering. I guess I thought I was healed and ready to go...NOTTTTT....Seems I really over did it just with the walking....Geez and I thought I was doing a good thing....Sore as anything.....legs.. groin... the works....So I guess this does take some time to get back to where we were.....I mean before we had hip problems....LOL....That knee thing seems to be an issue for a lot of people,,,,did you have pain before the surgery>>? I did,,,my gait was so off the tracking in my knee went off..I have pain on the side of my knee. The dr said it should get better,,,so far it hasn't,...its not as bad but the pain is still there. I wear what they call a J brace. Keeps the knee cap strait..I have a lot of work to do on the operated leg. It atrophied just a little without me even realizing it from the way I was walking...limping and all...Over all though when I did that walk I was so amazed at how I had no hip pain. I will take a step back and let this hip heal,,,we really need to baby this for awhile...I thought I was ready for anything but I am not...you to....I was talking to a PA where I work,,,he said JoAnne it will take you at least 8 months or so to feel totally normal...with no stiffness ....and I think he may be right....Lets just take our time I guess. We will get there...Your knee pain may be from the way you walk and when our muscles are not strong on the leg the knee cap is not stable and moves around causing the pain....thats what the guys I work with tell me....Once the leg muscles get strong the knee should be Ok...hope they are right...You take care..This is hard work!!!!!
