Yeah - we went ten days without any mail during our snow! Haven't had a huge lot since either, so I guess the system is bunged up at present!

Hi everyone, I was so pleased to see your name on the New Posts, Natalie, had missed your posts! I too am glad that you are making some progress, your story has been a source of inspiration as well as sadness for your pain over such a long time. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful Christmas and that next year will be so much easier than this has been

Aw thankyou so much Faith xxx

I'm sorry I don't get on here as often anymore the family seem to be taking full advantage of the fact I can do a lot more now!:th_sigh:

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas too :)

Jamie glad the surgery went well :th_hugzz:

Yup the snow and ice have wreaked havoc here too I haven't been able to even get to the local shop!My dad took me to the doctors today for what I thought was a meds check and I told him the meds are making me feel really dizzy so he did a few basic tests and diagnosed me with Benign Positional Vertigo! So I was packed off with some tablets and some exercises!:rolf:

Are you all ready for Christmas???????????

Oh boy, Natalie......I've had that vertigo!!!! While it's going on it can be horrible!!! I hope the pills work for you. That and lots of rest (the pills will make you sleepy) worked for me and it went away in about a week the two times I had it. Don't know what they told you, but for me no one could say why I got it. They think maybe some type of inner ear infection. But by the time I got to and ENT doctor both times to be tested, any infection was long gone. Hope you are better soon!!

In regards to positional vertigo, you might want to Google "ear rocks" for a wealth of information on this condition. I have had it several times and it is no fun.

Good luck>

Oh yes, Natalie. I'm sure it's the pills. What is it you are taking??? I imagine they are the medication used for sea sickness and they do tend to make you drowsy. When I took mine a year or so ago when I had a bout with the vertigo, I wasn zonked for the better part of a week!

So sorry you are having to deal with this Natalie - especially with all that is going on. Sure hope things settle very soon. Maybe Santa will bring you full recovery!

Take care and please let us know how you are doing.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Natalie!

I came to your thread to see how you are doing. So sorry for the vertigo, I hope that has resolved itself. Happy New year!

Yes, Nat....update please!!!

Hi everyone so sorry I have been AWOL I have suffered so much with the damn vertigo and still am :(

And after a nice peaceful christmas I am now really suffering with my knee :( It started Sunday, niggling pain more than usual and then Sunday night it was hot and swollen and the pain was unbearable so I took extra meds and a sleeping tablet in hope to get some rest no such luck I'm afraid I was awake all night and Monday was awful I was in pain and so tired. It didn't ease either and as it was a Bank Holiday I couldn't get in touch with my consultant or physio.

Today I needed to see the nurse for blood tests for Thyroid Check and we needed to walk on to the high st which is 5 minutes away this took me 15 minutes every time I walk I get a sharp pain through my knee and it feels like something isn't sitting right and like I am twisting it or forcing it to move?

Then when I am stood still it keeps giving way?!

So I rang physio and I am with him tomorrow and he is getting in touch with my surgeon.

Sorry for the doom and gloom post guys.

Hope you all had an amazing christmas and Happy New Year xxxxxxxx

Oh, Nat - bless your cotton socks. When ever will this end for you?

Oh Natalie I am soo sorry for you. It seems you can never catch a break !!!! I hope you can find out something very soon. I also hope that tonight you may get some rest. I will keep you in my thoights and prayers.

Hey Natalie! So good to hear from you but sorry the news isn't the best.

Please let us know what PT says. You need a break here! :th_2hissy1:

Wishing you all the very best, Natalie, so sorry to hear about the set back.

Thanks guys xx

And as usual nothing went as planned!Transport didn't come for me so I missed my PT appointment and can't get one till next Tuesday so I rang the hospital and I'm waiting for my consultant to get back in touch I spent most of the night crying and I feel the same today :( I have had to let friends down today too and I really thought all that was behind me,not being able to go out because of my knee :(

It's such a vicious cycle. Pain, then no sleep due to pain, then more pain then feeling blue due to pain and no sleep. So sorry you are down Natalie! Please do keep in touch here.

You said you overdid things during the holiday. Hopefully it's just a catchup time for you - fingers crossed. Take care Natalie! :th_console:

I'm hoping it's just that too but it just feels different,I can't really explain it the pain is so intense :(
Well I spoke to an orthopaedic nurse at the hospital and he was really helpful and asked me to check for signs of DVT which I don't have and he told me to rest ice and elevate which I've been doing lots of :) and he got me an appointment to see the surgeon on Friday.

So fingers crossed it's nothing too bad but I'll feel so much better getting it checked over.

Yes - lot's of ice and elevating. Did you go back on your pain meds?

I don't blame you for wanting to go get things checked out. Please let us know what the OS says.
