THR Groin pain turned the corner at 9 months

Coming up on 2 months tomorrow, seems longer than 2 months.
Quit PT last week, never really connected with the PT and was finding the sessions caused more pain than they should.
I have an appointment with another PT in August who practices Counterstrain (positional release), I am looking forward to meeting her. In the meantime I will continue with my home program and increase walking slowly.
I am definitely a turtle when it comes to recovery slow but steady progress.

Still using my walker most of the time, switching to my cane (the quad tip was too heavy and I sent it back), and without any thing for short distances.

My groin is still pretty sore, but settling down. Hoping I can drive in the next few weeks. :driver:

Turtles win!!!
I love release types of bodywork so hopefully that will do you good.

Two months isn't long at all really but I know what you mean about it feeling longer. Sounds like things are moving along nicely and often progress makes a giant leap forward when you least expect it. Slow and steady is a great pace!

Happy Two Month Anniversary!
Slow and steady is okay...as you know. You're taking your time and doing it right. Hope you're able to get behind the wheel again soon. Lookout, here she comes! :driver::wink:
@Pumpkin

Hang in there, Pumpkin. You’ve had so many challenges lately and you’re conquering them one by one. You’ll get there!

Still a turtle, tried on new shoes on Friday, yikes for some reason they pulled my groin, finally feeling better today. Went back on the walker to give my hip a break so it could recover.
Shoes going back ASAP.

I start with the new PT on the 19th, she has the skill set to address my muscle spasms.

Have posterior capsule opacification (PCO) in both eyes 2 years after cataract surgery. Had capsulotomy in my left eye done last week, what a difference it made. I did not realize how blurry my vision had become. On the schedule Wednesday for the right eye. Looking forward to clearer vision and less eye strain.

Shoes really are unpredictable critters. Even with a given brand, unless the shoe is designed off the same last as the model you like, you can't rely on it.

Hoping for a happy report later this week, even if there's a bit of ache afterwards.

You've had a rough couple of months, @Pumpkin. Sending positive vibes in your direction that things go smoothly from now on.

Pesky shoes! I tried on a different pair the other day at it felt so strange, they came off almost immediately. I do hope your eye procedure goes well and the PT too.

You have had your share of health challenges. Hope your eye surgery goes well.
Keep “turtling” on!
And as far as shoes go I stick with same brand & have had good luck. Only problem is when I want to dress up and can’t manage heels anymore. I just think some outfits look so much nicer in heels.

So glad about your eyes!! We’ll need to have a stern talk with your hip about those spasms. I think they will settle, but it’s probably going to take some time. Hang in there.

I was increasing the fonts to this size, or more.
We regress...back to kid size font, lol. Thankfully you've moved away from Dick and Jane size type. :thumb:
I'm sorry about your hip. I hope it relaxes soon and you continue to grow in strength and stamina.
Have a great Thursday!

My first appointment with the new PT who practices Counterstrain (positional release) was excellent. She did the evaluation, noted my right leg is longer (it was longer before my THR), and listened to me.
We had time for treatment of my groin, it feels so much better. I go back Thursday.

On a not so positive note, I stubbed my right little toe this afternoon, the same one I broke in March. :gaah:
I taped my toe and am hoping that it is just a stubbed toe and not broken. :beg:

My goodness, @Pumpkin , we’re going to have to ship you a big order of bubble wrap!!!

I hope your toe doesn’t hurt too much and that it doesn’t interfere with your ability to walk. It’s great that your new therapy is working so well. I don’t know much about Counterstrain, so I’ll be interested in what’s done and how it works for you.

I'm interested in the Counter strain too, Sounds interesting! I hate it when I stub my toe, even when it hasn't been recently broken. Nothing like that feeling and I've been known to make the air blue on those occasions... I'm not prone to doing that :heehee: Hope it's OK!
