Awe man Deb that sucks!!! I hope hubby gets it looked at soon cause it's going to drive you both nuts until you both know for sure what is causing pain and loss of the power in his left arm. Boy when it rains, it pours!:console2:

Plus cancelling you boyfriends stay for the week is a bummer!:heehee: I hate when that happens!:loll:

It's great that your knee is doing well! And also great that your deductible is all set. At least you won't have that worry on your shoulders!

Let us know how hubby makes out! I have yet to get my MRI on my neck, just waiting for the appointment call, and the OS that I picked is a spine and neck specialist as well. Good luck to you and Dave.

Stay well my friend!:friends:

Debbie,

I hope your hubby gets help for his neck soon! Losing the use of an arm should convince him huh? It is to bad that you had to cancel your boyfriend! A little stress relief, might be just what the doctor ordered! :rotfl:

Debbie,
Hope your husband gets to the spine man soon. When I lost the the use of my left arm from my neck the Dr. said I should have done the surgery sooner, I was on the verge of losing it forever, nothing to play with. Not telling you this to scare just a bit of wisdom from one whose been there.
If it means surgery it's not to bad, I was only in the hospital overnight the home to recoup. Might be laid up for awhile while the fusion sets.

Does anyone find that when they take ibuprofen that you gain a little weight, or if you are trying to lose, you just don't lose very easily? I didn't know if it was just in my head, or what, but I use to go to Weight Watchers, and the leader even said that it happens to some people. I am at my goal now and I am afraid to start taking them. Just wondering if anyone else had similar experience with them.

Debbie, I have never heard of that! Did she say why? Were people taking them with a coke and candy bar on the side?? :rotfl:

Now joking aside, maybe those people were eating something ibuprofen as not meant to take on an empty stomach!
Never rains but it pours , I hope you all get sorted soon. My future daughter in law, who I haven't seen since may, has lost 5 1/2 stone for this wedding, dying to see her next week.

The little things are coming back. I vacuumed for the first time in 3 1/2 weeks. Probably funny looking, vacuum in one hand and the cane in the other. My house is pretty big too, so I only did the main floor but that is 2500 sq ft. Then I mopped the kitchen and my bathroom. I iced and elevated for a couple hours, then went out and mowed my lawn. Before you holler at me I have a riding mower and only took about an hour. Now I am icing and elevating again. It does feel good to be more in charge again.

We'll wait until tonight or tomorrow. We won't yell at you. We'll just say, I told you so! (But I hope not)

Janet, I am sure you won't have to get after me as my knee probably will and not a good day to be sore tomorrow as I have PT and I hate it when I go into it all stiff and can't bend. Always want to move forward.

I should say, however, that my perspective might be skewed since I had both knees done.

Debbie,

Instead of PT how about you hop on down here for some vacuuming and mopping? I only have a 3000 square foot house, and then we can we some veggies and talk! I won't bore you with my school work either. :happydance:

Sonja, wish we did live closer. I just got chewed out by my 88 year old mother in law...LOL for doing to much.

That's ok. Mom is still chewing on me every time she sees me without my knee brace or crutches. She told me the other day, under no circumstances are you supposed to unload your luggage! The same day the strings on the bag caught under my crutch, causing my leg to go sidewards into a swoosh swoosh motion! But, I figure, hey I might as well try out the invention that Dr. Maale put into his revision, so I can tell him just how well it works!

WoooHooo, lost 2.2 pounds this week, must be some of the swelling is going away and I am now back down to my pre surgery weight. I didn't have too much of a loss of appetite with this surgery like I have in the past. Guess getting to know what meds make me sick and then not taking those help. So this morning I weighed 157.8 and my goal range is 155 (haven't gotten there yet) to 159.8. Hard to think of the days when I was over 280 pounds. I wonder what damage all that weight did to my knees. Can't dwell on the past and can just look forward to the future. Hoping I can hold my own here until I can get back to my 5 mile walking DVD again.

Was pretty happy that I am not extremely stiff and sore this morning from my vacuuming, mopping and mowing the lawn yesterday. I thought maybe I would pay the price. I have pt this afternoon and I hope it goes well.

Wow Debbie, you really are an inspiration to not only knee replacement BoneSmarties, but also the weight loss goal minded BoneSmarties! :thumb: Congratulations!

That's great that you didn't get any backlash from all that hard work you did. You are doing really well and I hope it continues for you.

Stay well my BoneSmartie friend! :friends:

Boy oh boy, my laptop is not recognizing my wireless connection so have to haul my butt up to the office in our house and can't sit back with leg elevated and icing while on the office computer. So looks like I won't be on as oven until laptop is fixed.
Knee felt pretty good yesterday considering what I had done the day before. But then I went to PT and he put me through the drill. I was doing everything and maybe hurt a little more but still did it. But at the end when I was on the bike my foot was slipping off so he took an ace bandage and wrapped it around my foot to keep it on the peddle. The position he put it in was a little harder for me to peddle and I KNOW I should have QUIT, but I went a few more minutes like that and I paid the price. Hurt like hell afterwards. I even had to take Vicodin later.
Feels better this morning, but then dealing with my husband and his problem with his neck and he is crabby (I don't blame him, he hurts) he kind of snapped at me to figure out the problem with my computer and order a new modem for it and that did it, I am not a computer person and I just broke down bawling. I couldn't help it. I am not use to him hurting and being crabby like he is. It is not good for two of us in the house to be hurting. I am very sensitive and don't like to be snapped at. He did apologize and said he took the computer apart and saw it looked different then others he has replaced so he will take care of it. I am still up here bawling, it is so stupid.
Hope I get my laptop back soon as I really should be elevating and icing here so won't be on here as much as normal.

You mean we're going to get a break!:heehee: Seriously, as Clint says, you gotta know your limits--but it's just so hard and then there's that wanting to show the PT that you can do it! Sorry about your melt down, but when you're hurting and in pain, it just so hard to not be crabby and snappy. You'll both just have to try harder to make allowances---sure hope hubby is going to get some relief soon. Take care and keep us posted (even if not as often). We care.

Awe Deb you are having a time of it lately. :console2: I hope by the time you read this things are going more smoothly. And, you are very right it is extremely hard when two people in the same house are hurting. It's almost impossible not to snap at each other. That's why Norm and I have separate corners of the house to retreat to other wise there would be lots of broken dishes.
I hope your hubby gets his neck fixed soon, I'm sure he doesn't like being a pain in the neck either! :hissy:

Take care and stay positive, happy days will come! :friends:

Well I'll have to say my hubby did something extremely sweet last night. I was working on a group project and my "office" is in our bedroom. He was so tired, and I told him when he was ready to go to bed let me know and I would switch to my laptop in the living room. I got up to stretch, and when I went to find him, he was gone! I finally found him asleep in one of the guest bedrooms. he came to bed several hours later after I was asleep.

I am feeling better tonight. My laptop is fixed, geez, who knew you only had to press a button to make it start again. Even my husband didn't know about it. Lucky the repair tech showed him and didn't cost a dime.

Went to my basement where my workout stuff is and I had received 9 DVD's from Leslie Sansone Walk company for my story about losing weight and I got one out. It is the easy one mile one. I wanted to just watch it to see what it was like and I started doing it and it was so easy just easy walking and knee lifts etc. So I did the whole mile (20 minutes) It was very gentle and something I can do. Will keep it up for sure.
