Congrats on driving, Debbie!

Awww, that is a cute picture! :)

And congrats on driving. It is freeing to be able to drive again, isn't it?!

This just seemed perfect for you, Debbie. Eli is "da bomb".

After having 4 days off from PT I went in today, drove myself this time so that is nice. Started out at 90 and then did the therapy. I have been on several different machines, but this time he put me on the bike. I have read the stories on here about rocking back and forth and that is what he had me do rocking it backwards. He kept saying I was almost there and I remember reading I think it was Michael when all of a sudden it went over center and he screamed. So that was on my mind. All of a sudden while going backwards it did go over center and therapist was right there praising me. I didn't scream, but a close to a swear word did come out of my mouth. So then he wanted me to go forward and I thought it would be harder, but it went right over and did that so many revolutions. After the therapy got measured again and was at 95. So after three times stuck at 90 I was happy to see some progress.

Congratulations on the progress Debbie. I remember my first time that I went all the way around on the bike. I looked up and said "that was an accident". It gets easier. I need to break through the 100-105 mark though.

Congratulations, Debbie, on driving again, your scrumptious grandson Eli and last but not least, reaching 95. All looks and sounds good to me :thumb:

It is funny Juniper, my daughter told me that Eli told her to take this picture. She is usually taking lots of pictures of him and he will run away or tell her not to. But this time he told her to take it. I love it.

That is an adorable little boy! My three grandsons were/are all blond and blue eyed, the three year old the blondest. My recently married son said he didn't think I would get blue eyed blond haired babies from him, seeing as his bride is Chinese (and gorgeous) I told him I'd already had that, but he could work on a girl!

Thank you Janet, it was hard to tell what color eyes Eli had, up until he was almost 2, he had one eye that was brown and one eye was a hazel color. I mean really noticeable in pictures. But glad they turned brown. Just like his mommy, blonde hair and brown eyes. It is fun with this melting pot so to speak with our children marrying different ethnic spouses. But you never know what the kids will look like, just like Christmas when opening a present...:heehee:

Congrats on the bike! I felt my best while peddling away on the bike. It will help with your motion and will also help pump away swelling in the joint.

Keep up the good work!

Three weeks for me today and was surprised this morning to be able to get up and not rely on my walker or cane. Yes I will still use my cane and the doc said two weeks walker and two weeks cane is a minimum. But usually mornings are really hard at first. I have therapy today, hope my knee won't be so stiff so I can do some of the things he wants me to.

I am still wearing compression stockings because of the swelling and because I can't shave my legs yet (still on coumadin) and what I hear that they help with swelling I am figuring they would be nice to keep wearing. But all the hospital gave me were two pair of white ones. Does anyone know what brand is good for finding nude color ones? I looked online and the price differences were pretty big. The ones I got from the hospital stay up really well but I didn't look at the package so don't know what kind they are.

I am going to ask the therapist if it is ok for me to go to Madison (40 minutes away) to the UW hospital downt here to visit my BIL who got admitted yesterday. He is waiting for a heart and kidney transplant and had some problems over the weekend and now only has 3% function of his kidneys. So I would like to go by my sister. My sister and her son will be coming back to my house tonight to stay overnight too. I told them that my house hasn't been cleaned for 3 weeks, but she didn't care. Guest bathroom is clean and the guest bedrooms are too.

Debbie,
I ordered these two pairs from Amazon:
Jobst Relief THIGH HIGH Moderate Compression 15-20mmHg
Truform Anti-Embolism Thigh High Open-Toe Stockings, Beige

Both in beige. They are both fine however I like the Jobst best because they are longer on me so stay up better. I wear one on my right leg when I know I'm going to be walking a lot or when I travel for any distance. They seem to help with the swelling.

Made it a few more notches on that PT measuring gizmo. Got me to 98 today and he told me I could to to Madison to see my BIL. All my feeling bad for me goes away when I see what he is dealing with. Needing a heart and a kidney transplant, what can I say. Knee felt good when I got home too. How many of you joke with your therapist when they "watch" you walk. I know he is watching the placement of my feet and how everything is doing, but had to joke with him that he just wanted to look at my butt....:)

So sorry to hear about your BIL, Debbie. What a worry for your family. Yes indeed, things like this puts everything into perspective. My young SIL is having chemotherapy at the moment for Non Hodgkins Lymphona. However, they are extremely please with her progress so far and has re-acted well to the treatment, which she is three quarters of the way through.

You are doing exceedingly well and that is an excellent report for three weeks. Keep up the good work :thumb:

Just way too many medical issues in our family now. Me with my knee, my BIL with his needing a heart and kidney transplant, but at least after his scare this week, he gets to go home today, and now my husband's doctor just called that Dave has to see a spine surgeon as his neck pain is caused by something going on with the disks or something. He has lost power in his left arm too, so I knew something is wrong. Spoiled his hunting trip he was suppose to go on, so guess that means I have to cancel my boyfriend coming over for the week... We always tease like that.

At least my knee is looking good for 3 weeks. My sister was here and she had a knee replacement too and thought for three weeks I am doing great as I am walking around the house with no cane most of the time. Well at least we have our huge deductible done with and we can get hubby taken care of this year yet.
