THR Cassidy's hopalong recovery<

Oh thank heavens.
I hope you are okay...
Continued prayers.
Try to get some rest, dear Cassidy!

@Cassidy you and your hubby have been in my thoughts and prayers these last few days. Thank the Lord your hubby made it through and is resting in ICU to get the care that he needs. Sending lots of positive healing thoughts to you both. Continue to take care of yourself and take whatever works to keep getting good sleep. Am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers

@Mojo333 Sending healing thoughts and prayers down to your hubby too. Thinking of you both:flwrysmile:

Glad to hear he's through the surgery and resting. Hope you are able to rest yourself.

Take care of yourself.

You and hubby have been in my thoughts. Take care!

Hi Cassidy..... took my eye off the ball for a few days and then have to play catch-up. So sorry your husband has heart concerns, hope he makes a quick and full recovery. You must be sick to death of hospitals after this double dose, do hope you are able to get the rest you need for your hip to heal. Thinking of you both

Hang in there, Cassidy.
Prayers for comfort and healing for you both.
Stay in touch.
Hugs :console2:
@Cassidy

So glad to read your husband’s surgery is done and he’s in recovery. This has been a lot of extra stress for you but you’ll make it through. Sending healing wishes for you both!

I appreciate all your good wishes. I visited him in intensive care today and he's looking a bit better than yesterday, when he'd just come out of surgery. They're gradually removing tubes, which is making him feel a bit less tethered.

Just walking around the hospital from the car park has upped my daily steps to over 4,000, so at least I'm getting my daily exercise in! Wound's still a bit sore, but healing well.

Hope all you lot are doing well with your hips whilst I'm in heart land.

Hi there...
Happy to hear your husband is looking better, Cassidy.
Please take care of yourself in all of this.
Tell hubs he has a cheering squad within BoneSmart rooting for him.
Go Mr Cassidy!! You can do this! :yay:
Hugs to you @Cassidy

Cassidy...super woman!
Bet when all this adrenaline wears off...you could use alot of extra rest.
So proud your hip is doing well.
Hope all continues to go well so hubby will be else's soon.
Guess he knows No coughing, hiccuping, or laughing!
After my dad had bypass surgery, he finally said...quit cheering me up and making me laugh.
He had a heart pillow to hug!

Hello Cassidy, you are amazing juggling your own recovery and supporting your husbands recovery. Thinking of you both and keeping you two in my most positive thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear hubby is doing better. I sure he will improve daily and before you know he will be home and starting his cardiac rehab classes. You are a real trooper to be dealing with all this while in recovery from major surgery yourself!

Dear Cassidy, I haven't been following my hippy friends very well the past week or so. I just learned about your husband's emergency surgery so soon after yours! I am sending my prayers and best healing energy to you both. I hope you have some support to help you with meals and errands along this new journey. Now is the time to make a list of what you need and who might help and call in all the love you've given to others in the past to help. Say "yes" to offers of help and don't be embarrassed to ask for help. (I say this from my social work experience working with family caregivers. You are a caregiver while needing some care and support for your self so be sure to take care of your self as well as hubby and use your resources!) Sending love, prayers, and healing energy your way.

@Cassidy happy to hear hubs is improving. Continued prayers and healing thoughts from Florida for both of you!

Thank you for all your words of encouragement. I think the next few weeks may prove challenging, not so much in a practical way, but In getting my husband to cooperate with things like the cardiac rehab programme, as he's not like me and doesn't like to know more than he needs about what's going on with his health. I think he's had enough of a shock to jolt him into realising he's lucky to have got this far, so hopefully he'll be up for it all. I also hope he doesn't get too down, as he's been very upbeat, but now realises he doesn't feel as well as he was used to feeling - ironically he felt very good until the op! I think I may find it difficult, too, knowing how much he can expect to do and worrying that something's going to go wrong with him, whilst not wanting to jeopardise my own recovery.

So, all in all, an interesting few weeks ahead.

The hip's behaving quite well, though!!

I think I'll be needing this forum more than ever, so thanks again.

You have truly been through it my friend.
There is a very real depression that has been documented with heart bypass patients...same as the post-op blues after any major surgery...but saw it firsthand after my dads triple bypass ten years ago. It's something about the true realization of mortality. We are not infinite. And I do believe men have a harder time shaking things like that. After the recoveries...he will actually be healthier and so will you.:tada: So that's good news!
I bet of all the recovery scenarios you played out in your mind...this one never occurred to you!:umm:
Take care and know we care!:loveshwr:

You will make it through this and so will your husband. I’m sure he had a rude awakening but as Mojo said, I think he will feel much better once he gets through this initial phase. Maybe they will give him a bit of counseling in the hospital. You just need to do the best you can to stay as well rested as you can so you can stay upbeat for him and encourage him. He probably feels extra bad that this could happen as you are recovering. Just remind him you are now a month out and feeling much better so it is his turn to receive a bit of TLC :friends:

We are all here for you if you need to vent or just “talk” and we will do our best to offer our support. Hang in there and remember to rest as you can :yes!:
