With so many interruptions, negative media and distractions in the world, simplifying life and not buying into the craziness can really help you find peace and enjoyment in the little things. So much to be thankful for.

2026 was a busy Summer. Did my best to try and wreck myself in a crash that made me think my knee was gonna explode! After recovery though, I’m amazed at how tough and unaffected it was. Lots of camping, paddling and hiking on the BC Sunshine Coast. The bike repair business is strong and I have more business than I can manage. I have had the continued opportunity to share my stories and encourage a fair number of colleagues who are going through their own TKR journeys. I have a fellow firefighter/friend going through the TKR process having his done on Sept 15th and he is doing extremely well.

As the world and technology continue to evolve, the simplicity of life becomes more important. Occasionally our busyness makes us forget the importance of being thankful for what we really have. Quality of life cannot be underrated. Remember to look back at your struggles and achievements, whatever they be and remember how hard you worked to get there.

Oh my goodness, @Axx72! So sorry to read that you crashed! As a former cyclist, I know it happens, but it sounds as though yours was a bad one. Happy to read that you've fully recovered and that knee held up to the test.

@Axx72 How wonderful to hear from you and know that you’re still doing well (even if a bike crash rained on your parade for a while!). You mentioned a bike repair business. Does this mean you’re no longer a firefighter or is this just something you do on the side? It’s great that you are that busy….and that you are still able to make time for awesome trips into the real world of nature. I love hearing from you!
