Thank you
@Alitm - I know you're going to be bilateral, whereas I was only a single hip, but from the point of view of following me on that front, all's good. I'm walking around the house without any assistance, except for at night when I use a stick for safety, and when I go out to show people that I'm precarious! I've been off all but blood thinners for the last week and experiencing muscle aches and pains, but nothing like the pre op electric shock pains and crunchings - so take heart!
Sleeping has been difficult and, with the added stress of worrying about my husband's imminent surgery, the doc gave me some sleeping tablets yesterday (at my daughter's suggestion - a couple of hours sleep a night really doesn't help healing!). So last night I slept!
Things won't be quite as planned, as we'd been looking forward to trips out, etc., but I'm lucky to have friends and family who are rallying around. The next few weeks will be challenging, but if the doctors can get him through the op, I'm sure we'll cope with the rest of it.
I must make a note to self to never complain about life when it's being boringly normal!
I said I wouldn't mention TEDs again, but the only silver lining is that the hospital said if there's nobody at home to help me put them on, and I'm mobile and on blood thinners, then don't make it official but sadly I'll have to leave them off!! Woohoo!!!!!
