I DID IT
My best and I finished the 5k walk and did it well.
we finished in 51 min so spot on 17 min miles.
and I am thrilled!!!!
I had not walked that far since last May so fo us to clip along at about 3.5 MPH for about 50 min.... I surprised myself.
My body is tired but my heart and mind some how feel released. This really feels like a turning point.. I think I was aggressive on pain meds I because I was afraid of failing.
Icing and elevating again and soon I will sleep
I am so very happy for you! I know very well the sense of self accomplishment that you feel. You did great! Its funny that we are suspect of the unknown and come away feeling great. When I did my 1/2 marathon just over two weeks ago, I carried by cell phone in my pack and also carried along (but never took) two of my hydocordone pain pills. The fear of the unknown...Well I never used the phone and I never took the pain pills and just like you, my tired feet were achy but my knee was fine! I iced just as you said you did, mostly as a precaution!
Yes it is s turning point and this is just the beginning, I am so happy for you!
Can't forget to tell you today...:loveshower::loveshower:: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
