Almost 4 hours since my first half dose of Tramadol and I feel great! If I had to call the ‘pain’ anything, it would be a 1.5 - 2!

Well, what do you know? I decided to go outside with my daughter. She walked the dogs and I wheeled around the cul-de-sac with the walker. Almost a quarter of a mile! This 50% thing really slows the pace. Felt great though!
We got back and I realized I was :45 min late for my meds! [emoji33] Just a little achy... so I have successfully cut the meds in half in 4 days.

Take that hip!

Got out of the house today and went for a drive to watch my daughter’s volleyball match. Wasn’t bad at all. Stayed for just one of three matches. Was able to get comfy in a folding sport chair and elevate using the cane. They lost the match I was there for but won 2 of their three matches!

Feeling good still. Holding at 50mg tramadol every 6 hours. I’ll see about pushing that back to every 8 hours this evening.

Now the countdown is on to the two week visit to the doc. Let’s get this dressing off and see the damage! Let’s get off this ‘ridiculous’ weight limit and really get moving.

This is one of my buddies. His name is Boss and he has taken very well to being careful around be and staying in his kennel when asked.

So, what can I expect tonight and tomorrow? We foot up to a beautiful 73° F today! The wind has picked up, still sunny but dropping through the 60’s over the next couple hours. Then this...

We are forecast for not much snow to stick but I have been feeling these storms in the hip since it was first replaced. Hoping all the current swelling overrides whatever this system throws at me!

Day 6! Started some exercising. Still laying in the recliner most of the day.
Heel slides
Straight leg raises
Adduction-Abduction in supine position in the recliner.
Doing both legs, but here are the new hip side.
Cold, damp day with snow later this afternoon. Think I’ll stay inside! Walk some laps around the house.

Had dialed back the tramadol to half the dose a couple of days ago. That was working, so yesterday I stretched out the time between doses. Went from 6 to 8 hours and that might have worked except for the field trip I took to the volleyball match! Had a rough evening. Slid the time back to 7 hours and am ok today. Stuck in the house alone with the dogs today. Mom back at work, kids at school and snow in the forecast! I’ll stay inside, thanks. Maybe I will try for 8 hours between doses again today?

Starting to get some good sensations around the incision. Not quite itchy yet, but some good little flutters and such. Currently laying in bed to see how it feels. Might try to sleep up here tonight!

My incision is quite itchy now and most of the scabs have fallen off. I do find ice takes the edge of the itch. NO creams for me, thanks!!

You might find just a little dab of Vitamin E oil once in a while will help that baby get and stay nice and smooth.

DAY 7
Went to sleep in my bed last night. It worked out that my Tramadol was scheduled right at 2300 hours, so I made it through the whole night in my own bed!
Got up once to hit the head, and rolled back and forth from good side to back about 6 times. Fitbit say I got 7 hours 4 min of sleep with about 6 little ‘awake’ breaks. That’s better than I get during a normal work week!
I was scheduled for Tramadol at 0600 but pushed it back one hour. Now I am at 8 hours I between doses. Maybe today will be the day I make the change to just Tylenol!
I’m feeling really good so far today! Just a bummer I can’t put more than 50% on the new guy.

You're doing so well. I know you're antsy but you'll be able to get on with it soon enough.
Boss looks sweet, warm to lay next to for a nap during the Winter that won't end.
