Yes. It's the law. The problem is getting a good shot of my scar without inflicting too much of my bahookie on folks.

It can wait until tomorrow i think.

 bahookie? Have we ever seen one of those? Is that anything like a hello there?

:hysterical: BAHOOKIE???!!!! :hysterical: Never heard that before, but I love it!!!

Cappy, we use a photo editing tool to crop bahookies out. So, if you don't have one or don't know how to do that, you could email a photo to me or Jo and we'd take care of that for you.

bahookie
scottish. your backside.

i slipped on that ice an fell on ma bahookie.

when i got home my Dad booted me up the bahookie for being late.

Morning all.

Well, as of yesterday I'm two weeks out. The district nurse came round yesterday and removed my staples - all 35 of them. She said my scar was one of the neatest she'd seen.

I have to admit that I'm finding recovery much harder this time around. I don't know if it's just having two replacements within four months but I have a lot more pain, my sleep pattern is terrible and I'm generally just a grumpy sod.

Still, I'm doing my exercises, walking on my crutches (well, with really) and I go to see the physio tomorrow.

Hope my fellow hippies are doing well.

27 more belly jabs to go.

Don't be too grumpy Cappy. Two major surgeries in such a short time will take a toll on your body. Hang in there and take it easy.

Cappy you are doing great. It's probably getting very tiring all this recovery. As Renate says - 2 major ops in a very short space of time is a lot to deal with.

But you know that it's going to get better - right?

Cappy

You know the score by now two weeks in and I am sure your misses will be getting the suitcase packed if you don't cheer up.
You know how long it took the last time in recovery and you feel this one is much harder so hang in there my fellow jock yer on yer way.:thumb:

Hi cappy!

This, too, shall pass. Try renting some good comedies and share a laugh with the mrs. Popcorn, too! And no hospital movies!

Hang in there :rolleyespink:

Aww...there you are :console:. Wondered if this was a bit harder than the last time. It does get you down in the dumps when it's more than you bargained for, doesn't it!

Well, it will pass Cappy. Not that it helps much right now, I'm sure. Why don't you ask for something stronger or different? Especially if you are going to be starting physio?

You are allowed to change meds, you know? Are you icing regularly? I had ice on my leg constantly, and not just on the incision area. It really does help.

Well my friend, hang in there. Check back more often and maybe we can make you smile ...

You know it WILL get better :friends:!

It's really amazing how different two supposedly identical surgeries can be.

I hope you can get some better pain management. It is very hard and exhausting if you are having alot of pain and it will not aid in recovery. You have got to be a trooper I am still moaning about mine that was done in April. I am still using ice constanly. It does really help. Hope you are feeling better soon and not so blue. I am sure your stomach is purple and blue from all those shots !

Thanks all, just having a couple of down days.

Had my first physio appointment yesterday which was mainly spent discussing the meaning or partial weight bearing. In hospital (and with my previous physio) it meant ensuring that my full weight did not go through the operated leg; ie both crutches and operated leg forward together and follow through with the "good" leg. This physio says that my heel should not touch the ground. It really is difficult trying to do the right thing when there are so many different opinions.

My sister, who is a nurse, visited yesterday and told me I was not elevating properly and my knee wasn't being supported. She changed things around a bit and it definitely feels a bit better.

I'm going out for a curry with some friends tonight - no beers though. Looking forward to getting out for a while.
