Glad to hear that you are doing better. I see that you are using crutches. I am still on the walker. I got both from the hospital, but they didn't teach me how to use te crutches as i was not very stable before leaving the hospital (kept feeling lightheaded). They showed me how to use one crutch to navigate stairs. I used crutches as a kid - but don't really remember much. I'm thinking of switching over as it might make me feel more moble - do you think? Maybe i'll look for instructions on youtube.

Donna, I don't really have much experience of the walker as I've been on crutches since day 2 but I find them fine. Is it elbow crutches that you have?

I've attached a PDF of instructions that I collected at some point that you might find useful.

Keep at it Cappy

you seem to be doing great - even it seems a little more difficult than last time. Just think of the end result.

regards

Dave

It's going well thanks Dave.

It is different and recovery is a bit harder but week on week I can see the improvement. Down from 8 Tramadol per day to 3 so something must be working.

Thanks for the information about crutches, cappy! I don't have elbow crutches - just the regular ones that come up to the armpits. I can't afford to keep buying more medical equipment or i would look for the elbow crutches. I think i only have two weeks left of crutches anyway. I am hoping to get cleared at my six week checkup to start full weight bearing and using a cane. We'll see.

Good progress Cappy, only 3 Tramadol. I have both, underarm and elbow crutches. Used the elbow ones before op, but underarm post op.

Just rest your thread, you've been through a lot... Glad you seem to be feelng better week by week... :)

What's so great about you Cappy, is that whatever you're going through yourself, you always have time to support/comfort/advise one of us!!
Thank you for who you are here.:ccheers:

I'd like to second this! Thank you, cappy! :thumb:

Well Cappy, we made it from Vegas to Hoover Dam to Grand Canyon and now to the Red Rocks of Sedona Az.... You too will be doing things real soon. I'm 8 weeks on hip 2. Will be posting more pics on FB! You are doing great!

Your FB pictures are stunning Julie. The Grand Canyon is breathtaking - visiting it is now on my "bucket list"!

Just back from a physio session. I still have problems with my abduction - right hip is 40 degrees, left is 35. Physio reckons I should be going for around 60 so I have my work cut out.

12 more belly jabs to go!

Cappy, when I got near the end, I put all my remaining syringes in a line in the cupboard.
It was so therapeutic, seeing the line diminish day by day! :th_heehee:

Will you be having a 'no more belly jabs' party? I think you'll need to mark the occasion in some way:wink1: Won't be long now

What am I going to do now?

Well Cap, I have been kind of lost in myself for a while, but I have been trying to get caught up on others threads. I think you are doing fantastic for what you have been thru in just a few months.

It is so refreshing to feel the warmth and humor in your posts even though I know you are still not feeling the greatest. You hang in there Cap. You give back so much to others on this forum just by being you!

10 more Jabs to go! you're getting there. :dancy:

you will get there with your abduction I'm sure, you have such a positive attitude Cappy
