He sent me to have an ultrasound of my thyroid, and the tech asked if I had ever had one done before. I told her yes, and that they had found a nodule on the parathyroid somewhere, and she said, well maybe it was on the left, cause that's where I am seeing one.
Got my results back today, the thyroid is continuing its downward descent, so we are increasing the synthyroid. I am low on VIT D and so I am going to need to increase that as well. The ultrasound showed a nodule, but they said they just want to keep a watch on it. The scan will be repeated in a year. My kidney and liver function were normal.
Hi Vicki,I've been taking synthroid about a year now. Don't think I have had any issues with it. Although I know you are on many meds and most likely don't want to take another one. Good side sometimes synthroid promotes weight loss.

Then they have to do blood work often until they hit it right or as close to right as they can. It's such a pain!
Sonja, thyroid medication is so tricky. I've been on synthroid since my early thirties and they have to watch my numbers so closely or before you know it your mind is sluggish, your moods swing up & down and your hair starts to thin at the slightest variance, a mess! Then they have to do blood work often until they hit it right or as close to right as they can. It's such a pain!
I wish you well in straightening that pesky little, but very important gland!
Stay well and stay positive my friend!![]()

Thinking of you Sonja and praying comfort finds its way to you soon!
Be well,
Dawn

Debbie, I was kind of disappointed but not too much. I do not want to endanger a child and this would have been my first one. My husband was hopeful, but scared at the same time because of the type of drugs they have me on to prevent MRSA from recurring, and for my MS. So, it was kind of a let down, but I had already put it in God's hands knowing that if it was meant to be it would be ok. My family history isn't great, but as I have told my Mom, "if I had to choose parents, I would choose both of you again!".Hi Sonja, how are you doing this morning? You know how we don't know any of us personally on this forum but from our posts we kind of get to know each other. I am trying to read into your head here about that possibility that you would have been pregnant. I know this is personal and of course you can just pass this question. Were you secretly hoping to be pregnant? I know, all the meds and age and all of that would be against you, but guess I was reading some hope into your earlier statements. If that is the case I am so sorry that it wasn't meant to be. Do you have any children? So sorry if these questions are too personal. Wow, you do have a very worrisome family history on both sides. I told my parents that their combination really made bad joints for the 5 of us kids. We have had 5 replacements for 3 of us and another brother needs both knees done too. I hope you have a good day today Sonja... Hugs....
