Revision TKR Story of My Knees by RestAssured: Pt 3

Sonja it's great the "Capsie" looks like it's finally settling down!:yay: Now get the rest checked and corrected and you'll be a brand new woman! I hope you took the hardheadedness and put it in a lock box and threw away the key! YES?
I must admit though, you are teaching us a lot!:friends:
I can't wait to hear your report after you see the doc on Monday!
Stay well my friend!

I hate to say it but ask anyone who knows me and you will know that hardheadness is what gets me through the most trying times! I like to call it perseverance, but I have a dogged determination to let nothing get me down and I will achieve my goals! Yes, there will be"speed bumps in the road of life" but it's all about how how I choose to handle them that gets me over each one! God is always by my side so I have a never-ending supply of hope to share! :happydance:

Well my dear Sonja it works well for you as long as it's used in a productive way and not doing something to set yourself back! Nice and easy lady, nice and easy and use that "Capsie" brace for as long as it takes for full healing! You bring the mommy out in me!
Stay well and soon you won't need any aides!:friends:

Well tomorrow I start back to school! I also see my GP, my PT, and have to run errands. I have read 137 out of 150 pages for next week's assignments, so I will finish reading tomorrow, and find out who is in my group for the first project. We are going to do a lot of group work this time so I have to depend on others so much more in addition to writing my thesis papers each week! Fun is just ahead! :happydance:

Sounds like you are going to be one busy lady tomorrow. I hope that you get some answers and help with your water retention problem soon. You seem to be ahead of the curve on your school work, keep up the good work and here's hoping that you have some good workers in your group. Hang in there!!!

BJ hit the nail on the head about you having good workers in the group! When I was in college and being a non-traditional student taking Business Management courses, I was very serious, but the younger kids not so much and we had a lot of group work! I carried the ball most of the time cause I didn't want my GPA to go down, I worked to hard to get it up there!

Now, knowing what a high achiever you are I hope you don't push yourself to the breaking point! Make those others in the group tow the line, even if you have to throw more sugar at them, some is bound to stick!

I'm looking forward to hear what your GP has to say about the water retention. Good luck kiddo!:thumb:

Hey, that was me, too! Traditional student at 18 in education for 3 years, non- traditional student in Business Administration at 29, three young kids, graduated at 38, Summa Cum Laude! I remember a lazy instructor that wanted to give a group mid-term, so he would only have to grade a few answer sheets. I spoke up and refused, saying it was not fair to me, or anyone busting their butt to learn the material, to give away my work to slackers. (I wasn't going for Miss popularity, I guess). I prevailed. Group projects were another kind of challenge. At least the work could be delegated, even if cleanup was required. After all that, we moved to Brazil and I never did use my degree for anything other than personal satisfaction, but that was the biggest motivator to begin with. I have to say, I loved my years in school, it saved my sanity, and I do miss it, but I'm done. Good luck Sonja with good groups!

Well after taking enough leadership classes, I have learned how to motivate even the laziest group member! I was put to the test with one member last semester but quickly got her into our group and participating! I love it now, because it is practice for the job ahead! :happydance:

I truly believe God has a sense of humor! Not only did I get placed in a group that has a person who tried to control me last semester, but He also saw to it that I ended up in a group that included her and one of the people who quit right before our dual group project was due! :rotfl: The one who likes to controll others lives in Cairo Egypt, and she has already informed us again that she is seven hours ahead so we need to get busy! :heehee: Well, I will get busy, but I will only worry about the posted timelines, not hers. I will not be up in the middle of the night to chat, nor will I except my other team members to do so.

Ok, now for an update on health status, my dr. Ran thyroid tests, because I already have hypothyroidism, kidney, and liver function tests, blood glucose, and all sorts of other stuff, including looking for VIT D deficiency. He sent me to have an ultrasound of my thyroid, and the tech asked if I had ever had one done before. I told her yes, and that they had found a nodule on the parathyroid somewhere, and she said, well maybe it was on the left, cause that's where I am seeing one. She then went on scanning, and kept returning to a couple of places. I should have results of everything Wed or Thur. One strange question that was asked by my PT,that gave me pause, was could I be pregnant?! Well, before the Mirena was put in again, the old one was past due! God, please don't let that' be the answer! I am on too many meds that would have already caused the baby irreversible harm. Pat talked about that thought too. If I were pregnant, it would have been just before the Mirena, last month, so my GYN wouldn't be able to tell at that point would he? :scary:

Oh I forgot to mention PT today! After sending Katie a "nice" :heehee: text informing her I had to slow down today because I couldn't afford to get sweaty, (I had to move my massage to right after PT), well Killer Katie had no mercy! You would think that she would cut out anything that would make me sweat so I could enjoy my massage, but noooooo...... I think, if anything I sweated more today! Oh how heartless! :rotfl: Personally, I think she was jealous! :happydance:

Yikes!!!!:yikes: Pregnant????:yikes: That's the only word I saw when I read your post!:yikes: Wholly, Molly, not what you need!!!!:yikes:
Did you take a pregnancy test? That would be the first thing I did, for sure!!!:yikes::beg:

Good luck with your group! I hope everyone plays there part!:thumb:

That is how I got my precious little grandson, my daughter went to take out that Mirena thing (if that is that thing you put in for 3 weeks then take it out) she went to take it out and found it in the car....oopps.... I was never so happy, finally a grandchild. That would be scary though Sonja and I hope everything is how you want it to be. Good luck

Well, it sounds like your new found leadership skills are about to be tested with your group. Nothing like using what you just learned to cement it!

Sorry to hear that Katie made you sweat and your massage was not as enjoyable as it could have been.

I hope that the test results come back with something that they can help you with, but not make life any harder than it already is...

Goodness! The thought of pregnancy thrown into the mix can be downright scary!!! :yikes: But God can handle even that!!! So, like someone  was encouraging me just last week, trust Him!

Actually, that is on my list of things to pick up from the grocery store tomorrow!:scare:
I haven't told Mom, because I don't want to get her hopes up. At this point I am truly hoping it is negative, although my husband is wistful and saying "we might have a little Patrick" God knows I don't need to bring a child into this world with the meds I am on! I hope that I have good news tomorrow night!

Thanks BJ, I know to trust God, and as you know sometimes it can be hard. Tonight will be one of the longest nights of my life!:thud:

Actually, the Mirena lasts for 5 years. I was overdue in having it changed out by 3 months due to the knee revision surgery! I thought, "well three months won't make any difference" I hope those are not my famous last words! :gaah:

Sonja, you never cease to AMAZE me. Hope that things work out for the best for all.

Hugs.

Thank you Pooshay!

After hubby came down from his cloud of "possibly being a daddy," he realized that it would not be in the best interest of the child. Some of the medications I take cause serious problems for an unborn child, and I would never want to harm a baby!
