@Pumpkln

Thank you for ranting on my behalf...if I try to do it I am told to not be so hard on myself, lol! So again thank you.

I don't think that display would still be there by the time we get there, would love to take my kids to see it though.

After being up and about on my knee for a little while, it's definitely feeling somewhat better even though it's really swollen and still hot....just not as swollen as yesterday.

That is a relief. Keep resting, of course. But so glad it is feeling better.

Thank you!

Looks like I will have to forgo physio tomorrow because there is a heavy snowfall warning for the area, the first of the season, I need the dislike button!

I need to go find my snow shovels and I have a truck load of wood waiting to be put in...this is so hard not being able to to do those things myself, I am so so tempted though!!!

I have seen snow once in the past 30 years. A flurry in Washington DC about 5 years ago. Would not have a clue how to shovel snow. Pretend you don't know how to either! And definitely get someone to bring the wood in! Nothing like a fire to heal mind and body. We have a fire whenever it gets below 60 degrees.

Enjoy the snow from a distance. Glad your knee feels better since you can't get out. Probably good idea to take a pass on PT 'til it heals a bit more anyway.

LOL! I wish I could pretend for a few months too, that I don't know how to shovel. I don't think I should be doing it just yet though!

If the weather forecast is wrong I will go but I won't mind postponing it to a different day!

Our gardner shovels snow, maybe you can hire someone for this year. Then purchase a snowblower on Sale at the end of the season for next year. El Nino is on the way.

I wish I had a gardener that shovels snow!!! My husband and I were planning on getting a snowblower but something else that I cannot do now...(I am really trying to focus on positive things but these things always slip in there)!!!

There isn't anyone around here to hire, I have tried...hoping I can get help from my neighbours for the next little while. That's the plan for the snowblower now...I will keep a lookout for one!

I won't be permitted to drive if I take any narcotics during the day
Only if you're on massive doses that would render you sleepy. I was taking a moderate dose of Tramadol and drove. I also rang several insurance companies and a couple of soliciitors in the UK (of course!) and asked them what their stance would be if a person had a minor accident whilst taking pain meds - I also rang the police and the answers were the same - they weren't over exercises about it as it was considered to be a matter of common-sense on the part of the driver.

As a matter of interest, when I went for my annual eye and foot diabetic screening the other day, they went so far as to give me a little memo advising me that since I'd had drops to enlarge my pupils, I wasn't allowed drive as it would invalidate my insurance (in big block capitals!). So again, I rang my insurance company to ask if this was true and they said not - it's up to the driver's own common sense to decide if they are capable of driving or not.

Or maybe find a teenager who will do it for some pocket money? Put a sign on your gate, asking for help.

@Josephine Even a 50mg dose makes me sleepy, so I don't think I should take any in case I have to drive.

I think I will call up my insurance company to hear what they have to say on the matter.

The OS I have is of a mind, if you think you are capable of driving go ahead, if your non surgical leg is the left one. (That would be the right one in the UK, Australia and New Zealand).

Physio for today has been rescheduled to Wednesday, its snowing and well, I don't want to be driving on the highway with a heavy snowfall warning in effect!

The knee is still really swollen and sore despite being off it for the past 2 1/2 days! There is a positive, I can bend it more today without the tearing sensation even though its still a little painful.

@Pumpkln
I just looked out the window it may be time to start thinking of :snow dig:!!! :heehee:

Please, oh please, do not shovel the snow! :yikes:
Is your sister still with you? If so, ask her to do it or, if she can't, ask her to seek help from neighbours.

Glad your snow turned to rain!!:blackcloud:so you do not have to do this :snow dig:.
Hope you can find someone to shovel, it is going to snow at some point in the next few months.
