Lets hope for some warm sun to melt the snow. Maybe you can make it a game for your kids???? :heehee:
Try calling a lawn service and see if they shovel snow in the winter.

@Pumpkln @Celle Warmer temperatures prevailed the snow has melted! Yay!!!

This is a strange recovery for sure, it seems like such a long time ago I had this surgery that it takes me by surprise when I go to do something and I can't yet!

The injury I caused to my knee this Friday past, mmmmm, it's not so good!!! It's still very swollen and too sore to even touch but the bit of bruising has subsided and I have a good range of motion back in my knee. The swelling is more to the anterior side and above the knee, it's not in the knee itself.

When I walk there is like a little popping sound, its when the knee is bent...it isn't what I would call painful but its not comfortable either. @Josephine Any opinions or thoughts on this?

@JustmeT I have popping there too at 8 weeks. My implant is slightly larger than the bone was so it's all readjusting. But I have not strained mine either. Stumbled backwards a couple of times though.

@Bikesouth I am not sure what the implant is like, big, small, average, lol! I will find out more on the 23rd when I go for my 1st check up!

I have stumbled backwards on the stairs a couple of times, something always stopped me though from actually falling!

Almost six weeks out and going for just my 3rd physio appointment tomorrow...I may have to go more frequently after tomorrow, the physiotherapist I have believes in giving the knee a chance to heal some before working it even just a little. You would think she is bonesmart educated! :eyebrows:

After your set back last week, you may want to give you knee extra time to heal before starting PT a couple of times a week. See how it goes tomorrow.

@Pumpkln I didn't do anything other than infrared and ice at physio today. The physiotherapist feels that it's an injury to the MCL and is treating it as such. I am back on crutches and back to rest, elevation and icing for the next few days....

@Josephine I think I was saying that about the size of the implant in jest! Not 100% sure of this though...:)

Glad to hear you have a good physio, you are going to let the MCL heal along with the rest of your knee.

@Pumpkln She is the best one I have had to date and she is very knowledgeable regarding knee replacements. I have lost about 20 degrees of bend, the physio said no worrying about that because there is lots of time to get ROM. This seems to be the plan to let the MCL heal along with the knee.

@Josephine Laughter can be the best medicine sometimes....I am in the need of a smile and a chuckle more than ever.

It is so difficult to try to rest elevate and ice, my mind is turning to mush. I am very anxious to get up to go do something, anything! My knee is still so swollen on the outside to the top of my knee...to sore to touch still. Yes I still have a need to get up and move around despite my knee!

It does get old, doesn't it?
It sure does get old...I am bored! When I am bored I tend to do things to alleviate that boredom which causes me to become a permanent fixture in the I ODIC!

Its been six long long weeks today since this revision, I can't say it anymore plainly than I do, I am so ready to be done with this...my life (the life of my children and myself) changed just 12 days into this...it seems like its someone else going through this recovery...

JustmeT,
Have you tried the games room in the Community forums? They are easy, and keep your mind more or less occupied. May help keep you out of the ODIC.

I haven't thought of of going there...I had actually forgotten about it!

Something new cropped up about 3 hours ago, my incision scar at about the top 3-4 inches feels just like its tearing and I cannot bear anything touching it nor can I bend my knee...anyone familiar with this? (@Celle or @Pumpkln)

JustmeT,
You have had trouble with that area previously. Now that you are familiar to your new Dr. hopefully they can get you in to take a look. Call your surgeons office, he is back from vacation?
You have enough without having to worry about this.
((((HUGS))))
