Keep a close eye on it. Hopefully it is only an infected stitch.

@Pumpkln The spot on my leg seems better today, thankfully. However today my leg is swollen a lot above the knee, my knee hurts when I walk sometimes. I am resting now...

Glad it is better, if it does get worse you will need to be seen. Did the OS office ever call back?

@Pumpkln They didn't call back...I called this morning, the office is closed until Monday but I could contact another OS when they said the one, I said no thank you! He is the one who gave me so much grief about my knees when they were so bad...he told me he wouldn't do anything for me until I was at least 60.

Sorry it was the one OS you don't like. Please keep a close eye on it, and go to ER if it gets worse.

@Pumpkln It looks like it's getting better, the redness is is leaving and it's less sensitive!

I have been having lots of sharp pain in the knee itself when walking most specially after sitting for awhile, this has been happening for a couple of days now and and I really don't know what to do about it? I can't keep sitting just so that it doesn't hurt.

I think I have just now had time to slow down some and remember that I am in the middle of recovering from knee replacement surgery....

knee replacement surgery.
You are recovering from a revision, you are very very early in recovery.
Glad the area is looking better and is less painful.
Hopefully when you see the Dr on Monday you will have some clearer answers.

I realize I am in the early stages of this but it honestly seems to have happened a long time ago. I almost feel like not posting because it feels like the recovery should be over.

You have lived a lifetime since your revision, please let me know what your Dr says on Monday.

I will let you know...

I am just so tired...I am not sleeping right, I am helping my children to get through this time (they are 11 and 6), there really isn't much time left to focus on recovery.

Rough night with the "knees" the right knee was worse than the left, that knee rarely gives me any concern but it's been painful and achy like never before. My left knee/leg is so swollen today, above the knee especially, I know I have been doing more than I should but it's never been swollen like this. I am resting, icing and elevating, but no pain med...I can't take anything during the day because I need to be clear headed and functional with my kids.

Any suggestions from anyone about reducing the swelling other that what I am doing?

Try tylenol during the day, be sure you add up all the tylenol in other medications you are taking to stay under the maximum dose of 4000mg a day.
Gently massage your knee towards your trunk. Then try this activity I was given by my PT.
In bed, breathe in your nose, out our mouth 5x slowly, ankle pumps 5x, glut sets 5x (squeeze your rear), then quad sets (gently press your knees into the bed) 5x. This activity is supposed to help drain lymph.
Glad you are going to the Dr. tomorrow.
(((((Hugs))))

JustmeT,
You are not alone in your recovery journey, and others have traveled near the path you have found yourself following. :friends:

@Pumpkln I guess I should have said it makes me feel less alone! I know others have I just have not read anyone else's journey who has gone through something similar!

You are not alone. I find it hard to say the right words because you have been through so much, in addition to the very exhausting recovery process. At the time when you need to be nurtured, you must nurture your children in their time of need. You must be alert, as you say, to help them through this difficult time. That is a lot for a person to have to take on. I think time is the best healer. Both for your physical recovery and your emotional one. You are being incredibly strong.

We are here, wishing you well, praying for you to have strength. Even if I don't post every day, you are in my thoughts. :friends:

@Slainte Thank you Jo, I am not expecting anyone to find the right words or anything, but I do thank you for your kind ones. It is difficult to do this with a partner, it's even harder alone with two young kids. I made a promise that I am trying very hard to keep just that days like today when my knee/leg is swollen and hurting, I get depressed because I am not able to do what needs to be done. I just feel like saying I am done with this...anyways, thank you again!

@JustmeT Are you wrapping your knee with an ace bandage when you are not icing/elevating? I wrap mine tight and it pushes some of the fluid down to my calf.

You are an encouragement to me, being able to do what you are doing. I know it's tough, stressful and a place at times you feel helpless.
Please continue to reach out in your thread as needed. Your burdens are heavy as you adjust to the changes and loss. Feel free to send a p.m. if you need to talk to someone.

Prayers for you and the kids.
