It is keeping me from "enjoying life" as you say because most everything I do I do it with some level of pain and discomfort. I can't slow down much though because I have two kids with two schedules, two jobs and a husband with 3 blown discs in his back.

Out of curiosity, how many members have had partials? You said that of those 22 has failed?

United StatesThen there's obviously some inflammation in there but what the root of it is really needs a doctor to examine. I admit myself unable to offer an opinion on this so am going to tag our dear @OrthodocI found a lump just above my kneecap, checked and there isn't one on my other knee, I pushed on it and it hurt, a lot, too much. Its not a hard bony type one but neither is it soft.
Well, let me offer you an analogy - would it make sense to you to have a tooth extracted instead of just filled? That's about the size of it. A lot of partials do work and work quite well. But too many don't. Often because the arthritis progresses to other parts of the joint. But this is not always the case and surgeons have to make a judgement on each case as to what's best for the patient. Difficult decision. Why would a OS do a PKR when they are already in there? I just don't understand the rationale. I get that part of the knee is not "bad", but it makes no sense to me when the knee is already in that much surgical trauma anyway, to only replace part of it.
