Thanks Jo, Kelly and Mary for your replies!

Jo, I cannot say that mine is a failed partial yet, not ready to even think that thought. I am hoping that the physio will do the trick, fingers crossed!!!! Hoping that it will be many years down the road for that, many many! I cannot put it into words what the thoughts of having anymore surgery on my knee does to me.

I can only imagine but it's a reality you should take 'under advisement' as the lawyers say!

Yes, thanks, I kinda have taken it under advisement, just scared and don't wanna go down that road for a while yet! Yeah kind of like an ostrich hiding my head in the sand.

When a replacement prostesis is needing revising can it feel good for a few days then get painful again? Another weird question, has anyone, when bending their knee, heard like something inside the knee that sounds sorta like tissue paper being crumpled up?

I always call it "velcro ripping" that is the noise that adhesions (scar tissue) make when they are stretched.

Thanks Kelly! That's what I was thinking it was...and yeah now that I think about it, it does sound like velcro ripping.

Well its been almost two weeks and still nothing from physio, I called left a message twice this past week asking when I can expect to get in, they didn't get back to me. So its going to be six week or less of physio before my next appointment with the OS, thinking I should cancel that? If I knew the exercises I should be doing I can do them on my own, @RestAssured any suggestions?

@JustmeT,

I do not know about the noises you speak of but have you tried doing exercises in the pool? The resistance of the water is really good to strengthen muscles. I hope you see your OS and please do not decide to cancel!:console2:

@RestAssured the noises I speak of are not the problem, that doesn't hurt at all just sounds weird, lol! The trouble I am having it with the left knee, not sure yet what the cause of the trouble it. My OS is having me try different things to elimimate what its not (I guess). The lastest I am suppose to do 8 weeks of physio, two of the eights weeks are gone so its going less than six weeks of physio, that's why I am consdiering cancelling my appointment with the doctor because I won't have the whole 8 weeks of physio.

@Pumpkln this is a new thing for me too, just cropped up in the past couple of weeks, it isn't painful or anything and only happens when I bend my knee good.

@JustmeT ,

You will have 6 of the 8 weeks out of the way, so the OS will have a pretty good idea, as will you, if it is working. Keep the appointment. I did 1 1/2 years on my revision doing the same thing, thinking, I wonder if this will EVER get better! Well, enter Abby my personal trainer, who has worked w knee replacement patients, and exit the Same PT. We started slow; she had to convince me to "trust" my knee again, but now, :happydance::wowspring:The sky's the limit! Sometimes it takes someone w a different perspective. In my case, it took someone who uses my competitive fire to her advantage! LOL :loveshwr:

Of course it can!:heehee: It's just like sometimes right before surgery, the painful knee is suddenly behaving itself! If only for a few days!:snork:

@Josephine
Out of curiosity, how many members have had partials? You said that of those 22 has failed?

Do you know, I couldn't say. I've never kept a count.

You just kept a count of those that have failed? :heehee:

I see less posts on here now of those who have had partials recently than I did when I had mine done. Not saying there are being less partials done....

@RestAssured

After I read what you wrote, I realized, you know, I no longer trust me knee. Maybe the physio will help gain back some trust in it? I have been reading up on the patella not tracking properly, some of it fits, most doesn't but I am willing to give the physio for this a try. Who knows, that may be the problem with the knee?

I always go back to the thought, I had the pkr, its not working what happens if I need a revision and that fails too, what then? (Yes, I know I have too much time to think)...:secret:

@justme,

Only you can decide if your knee is going to work out for you. But let me ask you a question... After seeing all that I am able to do with a revision knee, why the hesitation? Two years have passed you by; how many more are you going to try to save this knee if it isn't working. A knee that fails isn't the end of the world, I promise!:happydance::console2:

@RestAssured

Why hesitate? I have two young children depending on me, so it "scares" me to think of having something else done and it not working out. In the meantime, I am doing anything and everything, have only slowed down a little, I won't let this defeat me, but I have moments when I get down about it. (I have seen what you are achieving and it gives me hope, I just need to remember you and what you are doing when I have these moments).
