Sorry to have to say this, but it sounds like you might have a loose implant. I suggest you get it xrayed.

....I hope that is not what it is...! I don't know what to say about it but I will be getting it x-rayed asap! Thanks Jo for putting this loosening thing in my head...lol!

Well I have pulled the trigger and scheduled my next surgery for July 17th. I am going to get my second TKR. Living in Chicago I am a little sad of giving up my summer but at least I will be able to rest outside from time to time. My Knee just gave up and said that's enough. I am 4 months out from my LTKR and that knee feels great. The other day I realized all the pain I was in was coming from my right leg. I wanted to wait but why should I suffer with all this pain when the pain can actually be healing pain. :puppysmooze:

It will be nice to have your recovery in the summer, the warmth on your knee is much nicer than the cold...I did both last year one in summer and one in winter...I preferred the summer  !

That's wonderful that your 4 month old knee is doing great...keep up the good work.

Hi BJ...I have an appointment to see the OS on July 4th soooooooooo until then I won't know anything. I will get the x-rays taken then as well. The problem goes and comes with the knee and its not at all predictable, the shin splint like pain isn't there all the time but when it is, its nasty and then it feels like its burning.

It hasn't slowed me down much because I won't let it, I am just so sick of the knees dictating my life...:umm:

How are you doing with everything, and yes, knee included, :heehee: !

Wow, long time to wait but glad that you haven't let it slow you down!
Hope that it is something very minor and fixable!

Thanks 1ELISEA I hope that its just something minor too! I can't let this slow me down too much, its been hard on my kids too, just this morning my 4 year old said, "I hate your knee." Hate is not a word we use or condone the use of but he was voicing his displeasure and disappointment in once again having to be told about the knee...and I tend to agree with his sentiment concerning the knee!

I hope some day he is able to say how much he loves your knee! Fingers crossed!

This is really getting me down, I try to keep my chin up and carry on but sometimes its hard. When we want to go do something simple like a walk on the beach I have to decide if its worth the pain...but really the decision is already made because I cannot keep letting my kids down and telling them, 'no, we can't do this because once again my knee is saying it just cannot go!" I suck it up and get on with it! One day it will be better though, but more and more I am regretting having had the left pkr.

Hi Tessa, My knee has been collapsing and giving me grief. I am weary of all of this, but still in the process of divorce and do not yet have my house on the market... Things are dragging out and discouraging.

I hope that you get good news and that they can do something to help your knee without re-replacing it, which is what my doc proposes for me...

(((((hugs)))))

Hey Bj i just read your post about getting divorced (very stressful) and then mis read the end of your post. I thoughtI read your doctor had proposed !!!!!!!!! And i thought WOW. But no that wasnt it. Hope you and Tessa get those troublesome knees sorted out. Youve both been through enough. Hugs to you both x x

BJ Mac I hope things soon get moving along faster for you so you can get on with moving forward as well. You know it has to be discouraging for it all to be dragged out so long. Your darn knee...!

I am just wanting to know what is going on with this knee, it was never 100% feeling okay right from the start of this whole process and its just getting worse. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I just don't know! I tell my kids that hate is a bad word but its what I am feeling towards this knee...can't feel the love for it anymore but my right knee...I am lovin' it...:egypdance:

Take Care BJ and best vibes comin' at ya

robynhood thanks for the encouraging words of support!

Hahahahaha I had to go back and read the end of BJ's post too, and yep if you read it fast it can read like her DR proposed to her! :heehee:

I just don't get why they do MUA's before the 1st year? I have a friend in Australia who had a tkr at the end of April, she has a lot of swelling and so on, just normal from what I have read on here and she is having a MUA within the next two weeks. The thing is, her ROM is excellent, 105 flexion and 0 extension but her surgeon isn't happy with this says she has scar tissue this is why the bend isn't more yet. I have tried to direct her to this site but its a no go...she is the same one who uses heat instead of ice on her knee....

:sad:My appointment with my OS for July 5th has been cancelled! I don't know yet when I will have an appointment until I get one in the mail. Just gonna have to hope whatever is up with the knee doesn't get any worse!

I am in so much pain. Everything hurts both my legs and my spine. It is getting so hard to walk. I had my left knee done in January of this year and now I am waiting for July 17th to do the other one. I hope after the surgery I will start to feel better. It is so depressing I am 53 and I feel like I am 95. I just want to cry. I have been taking ibuprofen and I started to get alot of swelling in my legs. I don't know if it is from that or if my left leg that was just done is getting really tired from having to take over for the right and it is not fully healed. Before my right leg turned so painful my LTKR leg was doing great hardly and pain. But that has changed now. I am six months out and I feel worse now. I am sorry for rambling on but I just cannot believe how bad I am feeling on a daily bases.
My husband thinks that my pain is just coming from changing my gait with all this pain and it will go away after the other knee is fixed.

I saw the orthopedic surgeon on July 26th...He thinks that the pain in my shin is actually shin splints, he says my knee/s look great according to the x-rays. (Josephine)

I had a good report with my knees and I don't have to go back for another year unless something crops up before then.

Well, that is Great News! Get yourself ready for plane, bungee, rollerblading in one! It is the latest fad! I will be on the ground filming it for everyone! You can thank me later! :happydance:

RestAssured What if I said I have done all those activities already and you missed it? What? Did ya lose your invitation to come and film it?:rotfl:

It is great news and I am getting on with living again, my kids love it! I am working on losing the weight I gained in the last 3-4 years, this feels good too. What feels great though is that I know I can get up and go go go...that the pain in my left shin is just that, pain in my shin and no worries about the knee...:egypdance:

I have been busy with my children and family activities this summer so I haven't had much time to jump on and peruse BS, soon though I will catch up.
