BJ Mac How are you legs doing now, the day after? More importantly, how was the knee when you were skiing? Wow, I am so happy for you that you got back on your skis and had a great day of it!!:spin:

Thank you for sharing the photos Tessa! So beautiful; but I'm really glad you're blessed with the snow and not me!:loll:Last winter we had an ice storm in the Seattle area that shut us down for a few days. And we were without power for almost a week!:gaah: No power means no heat dang it since we didn't have our pellet stove installed and still don't this year. So I really don't want snow again any time soon. Yup, I'm a winter wuss. It was storming so bad this morning that I got soaked on the way to work. I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy a new coat.

Stay warm and dry!
:ok:

My legs are OK today, but I do not have to walk around in a semi-squat position today since I have no ski boots on my feet...lol I don't know how they would feel if I donned my ski boots and tried to ski today though. I will keep up my workouts and hope that those muscles just get stronger and gain more and more endurance...

LOL! Well....our blessed snow is going away, its raining out there now, quite the mess to be sure! We have a wood stove so should the power go we are ok for heat and if we had to we could cook on it too. We have a generator too so were good.

Its the hurricanes and the blizzards we worry about more than a small snowfall like we had this past week.

How's the knee doing Lori?

I had a small setback Friday night; nothing too serious. I'm going to try to post an update tomorrow. Glad you're warm and dry and can stay that way (stove/generator). I loved my wood stove when I lived in Nevada. I really miss it.:boohoo:

Unfortunately I forgot that today is our year-end deadline for invoices to be processed. It's going to be CRAZY here today! I may not be able to get to it today but I will post an update soon. Thanks for checking on me!

Its been six weeks for the right and 28 weeks for the other....the 28 week one is giving me a lot of trouble. My left knee, when I am standing from a sitting position has been catching and I almost fall, its doing this about 8/10 times. Its a little worrying for sure. The right knee has been great, except for when I overdo it, of course , you would think that is the one I had the uni done on 28 weeks not 6.

Today we (as in I...lol) took up some of the tiles on our kitchen floor, they all need to be taken up so our new flooring can be installed, I want it done before Christmas, sooooooooooooooooo I thought it a good idea to get a start on it myself. I must say, all those times of having to get up from a fall on skis, with the skis still attached, came in rather handy today. I had no trouble what so ever getting up from off the floor. :rotfl:! Probably looked a bit beached whale-esque but I didn't pause to look, :heehee:

I was to the Dr yesterday and she suggested a pain med for my knee, arthrotec, I haven't come across this one before and not sure if it would be effective. I am so leery about trying anything because of the trouble with taking any pain meds, wondering if its even worth it to try at 6 weeks out seeing I have come this far without anything.

My three yr old son asked us a question today and we couldn't come up with an answer quite good enough for him, though we tried....:umm:The question is, "Why can't dolphins fly in a plane?" At dinner this evening he told us the answer, "Because they can't get a pilots license." :heehee:

"Why can't dolphins fly in a plane?" "Because they can get a pilots license."
:rotfl: Too funny and way to cute!

Oh Tessa, an expert overachiever, I would recognize you anywhere. My dad always said, "It takes one to know one." Taking up flooring tiles, hmmm, something that you would do well to leave to someone else. I know, I know, You couldn't help yourself. It was just there yelling for you to do it...

Get thyself over to the sofa and Rest, Ice and Elevate. Perhaps read those little ones a book, with your leg/legs elevated. Oh you silly, silly girl. ((((hugs)))) take care of you or there will not be someone to take care of those that you love later...

I love the way three year olds think and come up with the darndest things. When my third son was 3 we were sitting at the dinner table and he had a mouth full of milk. He puffed himself up and sprayed that milk all over the kitchen and then very dramatically declared, "I was a dragon and I was breathing fire!" I jumped up and ran from the table into another room before I let loose with uncontrollable laughter. My husband later proclaimed that was not fair of me to leave him to take charge. Hmph, That was one of the very few times I left him to be the one in charge, and all these years later I realize that he was correct. I should have left him in charge a whole lot more than I ever did. OH WELL!!! Hind sight is 20-20

Hang in there Tessa, and please work VERY hard to take care of yourself. If you do not you will wear yourself out and have nothing left to give. Been there and done that!

BJ Mac My dad used to say the same thing...lol! Yes, you are right, its been yelling at me for 3 weeks now and I think I did rather well to ignore for that long.. Today, as in this afternoon (my son had playgroup this morning) the sofa and I became reacquainted....not sure if has been doing any good but I do know that its not doing any harm...lol!

Hindsight sure is 20/20 sometimes I wish the clarity would come sooner though...hope all is well and you have plenty snow to get some skiing in....its raining here again today with a chance of snow over night but with rain again on I think Sunday!

"Why can't dolphins fly in a plane?" "Because they can get a pilots license."
:rotfl: Too funny and way to cute!

I asked him if "pilot whales" can fly planes in planes, he wasn't too pleased, he said, "I'm just three are you trying to confuse me?" :heehee:

Tessa, I am glad to hear that you got on the sofa and tried to rest. Yay!!! Good job! Now stop trying to confuse that sweet little son of yours...:rotfl:

It is cold now, but we are supposed to have rain on Saturday and Sunday. But we are supposed to be on the slopes for training...

That resting thing didn't last long...! Its the time of year where is seems there isn't much time to slow down but I do put it on pause a couple of times a day. Sleep is just not happening much night time...its not the knee so much as the 'leg' that wakes me, sure the knee feels stiff but I think its everything else that aches around the knee.

I am also wondering if its possible for a piece of a staple to break off and stay in the skin? I have a spot where there was one if the staples, its dark and very tender to the touch.

My little guy is such a funny dude...we baked cookies on Saturday and he LOVES cookies. Yesterday he was after having more than I usually allow but kept asking and asking and asking for more...I was very strong and stuck to my guns and said nope, sorry, you have had enough. He didn't cry or pout, he just walked in the the kitchen and said to me, 'Mommy, I'm so gorgeous I deserve a cookie." Guess who crumbled? Hahahaha, I am such a sucker...:loll:!

My daughter who is 8 isn't a greedy child at all and will most often put others before herself...she was talking about her list for Santa and said that she won't put anymore than 3 things on her list each year, (insert awwwwwww here)....however each year they are going to get more expensive....:rotfl: !

Tessa, keep trying to rest even if they are small rests. Every one counts and helps.

Your kids sound sooooo adorable. I love kids, and I have a sweet almost 5 year old granddaughter that I get to spoil and send back home... Wait until the day that your daughter puts a horse on her Christmas list, now that's expensive...lol

Hang in there and keep work at taking care of yourself.

My sister asked my my son what type of tree we are having this Christmas and he said without a moments hesitation, "Osh Kosh"...

The knees are holding up I think, but the left knee is acting weird...its hard to explain what its doing but its not comfortable when it happens...the only way I can explain is that its like its slipping. The right knee is recovery really well...other than what is normal (as I know now)...its all going good!

Its been a busy couple of weeks and I am paying for it....but I am resting the knee and back to the icing of it (them) again. My left knee feels so much worse that the right knee...that slipping feeling is still present not sure what is going on there. Yesterday as I was getting up from the table, my chair slipped, pulled what I think may be the hamstring, it hurts and I couldn't sleep much last night. I was so afraid that I had aggravated a Baker's Cyst in the right knee but I don't have any swelling behind that knee and I can bend it without discomfort, that was a relief. The Baker's Cyst in the left knee is slowly diminishing but I have to be careful not to try and do too much to cause it to become angry and painful again.

One more week, I have to go back to the OS and I am hoping that he will give me the go ahead to drive....I don't get why he wanted me to wait so long, its tough to be sidelined like this for the past at least 8 weeks, the 1st four I will say it was a good thing but beyond that, its been torture..:headbang:!

I want to go skiing, fresh snow, and had the skis out (just to look at them, have the bindings checked, that sort of thing)...didn't get them waxed though because it would have made it too tempting. I will just have to enjoy the kids sliding, skating and having fun in the snow, for now. Sooooooooo tempting though....:groan:

I know what you mean about the skis being tempting... I took my snowboard to work today because I was so tempted with the fresh snow, but after work I was soooo tired and sore I could have cared less about anything besides going home and icing and resting and elevating. My left knee hurt way more than my right too.
