Hello everyone. I m a stressed and depressed and in beyond in pain. Yesturday I called my new os office to set up my post op appts. And the main secretary said that my surgery date, day was not in the computer. That mayb my os secretary forgot to enter it so now I have to wait till Monday to talk to her and find out what is going on and if I can still have my surgery on may 23rd. June 4th will b 60 days since my orginal scheduled surgery date and I know they told me that it is either 60 or 90 days, after the original scheduled surgery, I would have to redo all the testing so hopefully that doesn't happen. My good knee is now hurting pretty bad as my walking has gotten worse and I can barely walk. I just don't know that my body can wait any longer then it already has much less if I would have to do all those test yet again.

How awful to call to set up your post op appointments and be told you do not even have an op date in the computer. I hope this is a computer glitch and not a huge human mistake. I hope you have some positive answers on Monday.

Thanks pumpkin. I really hope so too that it isn't a human error. Hopefully Monday will b good news, here's to hopeing

My OS kept his own handwritten schedule of surgeries and then sometime later on it appeared in the computer. He booked the dates for each surgery and since he goes to more than one hospital he would also decide what hospital was used. If medically there were no other problems he used a very small hospital that handled only ortho patients. Otherwise he used a large hospital that had all the usual specialties there. Hopefully it will turn out to be a missed entry in the computer but it is listed somewhere else.

My OS keeps his own notebook of appointments too despite that the dept has a person in charge of scheduling. They constantly have to check his book to see what he's added or changed

Thanks everyone for those comments. I just got off the phone with them and yes it is still on for may 23rd. She said not everyone has access to the surgery records. So one more week to go

That's great! One less thing to worry about. Then you will be on your way with a knee that your body will get along with this time!

I know. My body won't know how to act

I'm very glad your surgery is still on for May 23rd. Really glad your OS's office was able to confirm that.

How are you doing? You are getting closer to your date next week. I wanted the old knee parts that they took out when they did my revision as a trophy or to through at my old OS since he works in the same medical complex that I do. I know you want to get as far away from those parts as soon as possible. Less than a week so hang in there. I'll be around most of the week.

I m hanging in there. I think I m ready, got all my special suppies, since my knee allergies my allergies in general have gotten worse so I can't use the hospital stuff. I actually did ask my new os for my replacement back ,his secretary said that he will try everything within his power to get it back to me. So I won't know till after my surgery is done. I m not holding up hope for it though. My orignal os,I just don't know how to handle him. I m going to ask for a copy of all my records of the last 2 appts,I have the others. Cause now on my medical records he says I have pettellafemoral stress syndrome in my RIGHT knee,my left knee is the one with the bad replacement he did. My rite knee I m sure is starting to go bad but the pettellafemoral is in my replacement cause he did it wrong. We think he wrote it that way so that way if he is sued it won't b on record that he did something wrong. And for some reason my records from them keep disappearing. So bfore they do I want copies which I guess I will do tomorrow cause of my surgery coming very soon. Thanks for being there for me. Hubby switched the living room around for when I get home to help limit the puppies from jumping on my leg, they like to look at the window so we moved the chair away from the window. I m starting to get nervous bout the spinal and the other thing we talked about but my pain and walking, plus my strength in my arms have gotten worse so I m more ready then I thought

I couldn't get my parts back because they considered it as infectious waste. So I have nothing to through at the idiot. As far as your records call the office and see if they have some special form in their office that they need you to fill out. A letter from me wasn't sufficient enough. So I very loudly went to the office and announ Ed I needed my records since my surgery was screwed up. They quickly gave me the form and also charged me money for them. My old OS was stupid enough to have in my records a comparison of two different MRIs that were two or three years apart and stated there wasn't very many changes. The idiot (I could say worse) was comparing two different knees! I guess he can't tell right from left.

I wouldn't worry about your dogs. Mine sensed that I was hurt and never did anything to cause me any problems. That and I always had little bits of dog biscuits so they would immediately would go to a sit. You'll make it through and you'll be much, much happier and on your way ( finally) to having a new life.

Yes, get copies of your notes as soon as you can. Any competent surgeon will be able to read between the lines and see the mistakes.

I don't see any future in trying to prove blame - it can be a long, tedious and heartbreaking process. It's better to find a competent surgeon and move forward, with more appropriate and effective treatment.

Ok I m beyond scared of needles (didn't used to b but am now). So when they do the spinal, will I be sedated cause if I m awake I will freak out. They will b calling me on fri. But just thinking about it gives me panick attacks.

Tell them that then. You can ask them to at least relax you. I had epidurals when I had my three children. It was far easier because I wasn't having any contractions this time!:heehee:

They usually give you some sleepy juice, to sedate and calm you. When they call you on Friday, be sure to mention your fear of needles and ask if them to make sure you have the sleepy juice before they insert the spinal. I've read on here that some people only remember being asked to sit up and bend over, but they don't remember anything else until they wake up to find the operation is over.

That was certainly my experience.
