Well PT was a it odd today I started off on the pedals to loosen up my knee and that was fine then he had a look at my knee and he was concerned about my swelling again,he tried to do some work with my hamstrings and said they were really tight today and then he did some work right in the back of my knee and OMG it was so sore :( So he gave up after a while and sent me home with a compression bandage to wear a few hours a day :thmb:

I am still on crutches or using my walker if that helps you!:D I am not worried about how long other people have used medical devices; I know that my body needs these right now so I will use them as long as I have to. Why put pressure on myself? I already have the t-shirt from the knee replacements!:rotfl:
 
Well said Sonja I spoke to my PT about it today too and he said there is no rush and if i feel more secure with them then it is best to stay on them :D

Just a quick story from my ambulance ride today,there was an elderly man on it with me who had also had a knee replacement so the ambulance drivers who I see loads said this lady has had a knee replacement too so he turned to me and said "you have had a knee replacement,no wonder the NHS is in such crisis if they are giving knees away too such young folk!" and turned back away from me I just sat there gobsmacked :shk:
 
WELL....I NEVER!!!! What a gnarly old gent he was! Too bad you didn't have a good comeback for him. Like you don't have just as much right to a pain-free life, huh!!!

If I were you I would have told the ambulance driver "thank you" for the compliment! Look at it from the positive, you ARE young and you have your whole life ahead of you to use that knee that you received!:D
 
I should have Sonja!It wasn't the driver though it was another patient :thmb:The ambulance men were mortified when he got off and kept apologising for him!
 
Boy, I bet they were!!! After all, they started the conversation. Look at it his way, though....he may have been in pain physically. Or maybe he was just a sad, lonely old man. Either way, his life will never be as good as yours and he is just someone to pity....

Don't let ANYONE bring you down! The old man was probably jealous of the fact that you have your whole life ahead of you!:wink: I am proud that I decided to try and better my life by getting knee replacements. I didn't ask for the infection, but I will deal with it. I am trying to look for the positive in getting my new knee also.:D
 
Natalie, That man probably didn't spend his 20's with terrible knee pain and having multiple operations. I think if we learned peoples' stories, we would be less judgmental.

I'm sorry you have to wait so long for your husband's test results. Very frustrating.

Sounds like your pt has a good approach right now. I'm glad.

Rebecca it is a pain we have to wait but hopefully it will all be positive news :thmb:

So another day another physio appointment he has suggested I take home PT a bit easy as we don't seem to be getting very far because of the swelling I have been at 90 degree bend for 3 weeks now and there seems to be something really stopping it no matter how hard I work!So he has requested that I just do small amounts of physio to stop it from seizing up but don't push it so it is painful,I'm to do this till I see him again next week :thmb:
 
Just reading your update, Natalie. I hope because you haven't replied in a few days now that all is well and you are so busy getting better that you haven't had time to reply! I know when I'm busy and moving about through the days, I don't have as much time to check in here. I have been overdoing it but it doesn't keep me down for very long anymore as I am getting better and better each week.

Praying that your hubby's results are what you are hoping for......

I'm doing ok had a few rough days with stuff at home and belly problems!The kids are off on half term so it is all go around here at the moment so I am off PT for a week and a bit and just got to do home PT :thmb:

Knee is ok still much the same thanks for asking huni xxx
 
No excuse for such behaviour, imo. He was just horrid old man!
 
What a jerk.
If you run into any more of his kind, just smile at him and say, "Yeah. It IS good. I'll be enjoying my new knee long after you are 6 feet under". :hehe:

:blush: "Yes sir. But :blush:I thouht it was from the high usage of NHS by the older crowd that was causing the crisis. Besides, if you had had your knee worked on earlier, you wouldn't be so obnoxious!!!" :evil:
