Nat,
Congrats on the leg raise! That one is still giving me problems (to the point where I'm not doing it for the time being).
I'm glad you asked me that because I forgot to mention what he told me. He said that if the SC did start up again, it probably would not cause me much, if any, pain or problems because there is not much left in there that would feel anything and the pieces would not be able to get between the ball and socket (which was what caused me my worst SC pain). I imagine there would be discomfort if the SC continued for a long time and filled the whole space, but I'm really hoping that doesn't happen! I'm optimistic that it won't, but, if it did, I would want the surgeon who did my replacement to clean it out. He is a great surgeon.
I would be interested to hear what your surgeon says. I have not read up much on knee replacements and how much, if any, of the synovial lining remains. I pray that you never have any more problems! I lost so much of my 20's and 30's to SC because, as you know, it effects every part of your life -- what kind of job you can have, how much energy you have, etc. I don't think I would have had more children, but, after having my son, I knew I physically could not take care of a baby or toddler again as long as I had the SC.
I am feeling really good. The only exercise I'm doing now is walking. I was able to go out and do a number of things with my husband and son today. It was so great! I'm only taking ibuprofen during the day now and one 50 mg Tramadol at bedtime. I am still doing some icing. I needed to get off the Tramadol during the day because I have to drive carpool for my son's school (which starts on August 30).
Keep us posted on how you're doing!
