See isn't that funny the nurse at the hospital really had no clue what they had used so she just said it was glue!
It makes more sense for it to be internal stitches!

A type of super glue is used sometimes on the outer skin, Natalie. It can be done instead of staples. The internal stitches are still there, though, because there are multiple layers of tissue that must be put back together.

Wow thats fab Rebecca :)

They go back on the 3rd September it can't come soon enough for all of us!:hehe:

So I have seen the doctor and the nurse, the wound is healing and is clean and the doctor gave me MST 20mg night and day instead of the Tramadol and gave me Diazepam for the twitches and lack of sleep, hopefully it will all start working soon as the pain has been bad today!

My friend was here for 4 hours though, but couldn't kick him out as he had come 2 and a half hours to see me!

Jamie it does seem like it was glue and stitches inside :thmb:

I'm feeling very strange today it's the new meds I think I feel dizzy and shaky and not with it!
Pain has eased a bit so that's a bonus!

Sometimes that can happen when you switch meds. I think it will settle down soon. But if the pain is better controlled....whoopie!!!!

yeah, pain has abated a bit - so glad - I think the "weirdness" feeling is normal, you're on a pretty high does of valium...

Take it easy Natalie. You are on lots of drugs. That's bound to make you a bit dizzy. Maybe you will finally get that much needed sleep!

You take care my friend!

Thanks everyone I really gave felt dreadful all day and have had a few tears so I have taken my night time meds and had a warm shower and have ice and I'm elevating and I'm hoping for sleep :)
Oh and PS remember when I told you I had burning feet all the time well now they are freezing cold typical eh?

mine are always freezing too...but they've always been like that.

feel better soon,

xoxoxo,

Lin.

Hi Nat-
Sorry you are having such a time with your drugs. I did the same thing and never did figure it out. Just got better with time while trying. I did take Tyelnol PM to help my sleeping after awhile. Just keep on trying things and hope something sticks.
I don't remember too much about the teds either. I think my brain got fried with all those surgeries. I remember so little. It's all a blur! I know I didn't struggle with the teds though so I doubt I was using them when I got home. I did not have them on at PT and I started PT right away after I got home. I too felt very dizzy alot of times too. And crying ! ALL THE TIME! Had to be drugs. I don't cry much normally.
Some good news for you too look forward too. I'm on a little vacation and spent the day on Lake Michigan swimming all day. My knee was wonderful. It had been actually very tight and I wasn't too happy about it and now it feels great. The swimming worked well. I was walking all over on uneven ground and felt very sound and good. See you have good days ahead too. I'm sure of it. You'll get there I'm sure.
Take care-
Martha

PS read my TKR notes on the SC board and you will see how slow I was getting any decent ROM.

How's it going today Nat, any better once you woke up? As you can see I'm up in the middle of the night in pain...

xoxoxo

Linda.

Martha that is amazing news that really does make me feel so happy to hear you are doing so well :)

I will go read your post on TKR I never thought about it before but it will help loads thanks hun xxx

I had a silly little fall yesterday(I'm so accident prone!)which may have set me back a bit but my ROM is still 45 degrees and the pain is different with the new meds I think I may need to up the dosage once more and put up with the dizziness, only problem with the dizziness is you don't want to go out anywhere for fear of feeling poorly!

Have a lovely vacation :) xxx

Well, at least you got some...I had another dizzy nausaea spell so just woke up from a nap and feeling better again...hopefully doesn't turn into a pattern....are you sore today?? Hope you are doing better,
xoxoxo
Linda.

Hey Linda I'm about to have a nap too but guess what the pain is less today!maybe the fall helped!
Has your pain eased after last night?xxx

Good for you, finally you get a break (no pun intended, LOL)!!!!

xoxox,

Linda

Nat,

I've been thinking about you and hope you are doing better. I hope you are easy on yourself and your expectations for ROM and healing at this point. There's no way to know how the SC and your previous surgeries will impact the healing process now. SC is so rare and people with SC who have had joint replacement are even more rare. Your healing experience may follow its own unique path. Martha's post-TKR posts on the SC forum may be closer to what you may experience, although I can't remember how long she had SC and how many previous surgeries she had. I only had one arthroscopic surgery (and no open procedures) before my hip replacement, so scar tissue wasn't an issue.

I hope the new meds are giving you better pain control and helping with the twitching. I had a lot of twitching earlier, but it has stopped now. If you are not comfortable, ask for something different.
