Yeah, I was going to type something about where your stocking hits your knee. that's where one of the bone cuts is I believe. They didn't want the stocking to hit that area on me. I got the full leg one but only wore it one day. But do what your Doc says of course.

I asked for full stocking ones and they said they didn't supply them,I have a district nurse coming on Thursday do you think it would be wise to ask her what she thinks about me wearing them?

They do cut into my leg :(

I definitely think you should try to get the ones that go above the knee. Those are tightening around your knee which can't be comfortable nor good for you!

Lovely - glad you got out - I go for my first PT appt. today at 3, I'm excited about it as it will get me out of the house!

xxoxo,

Linda.

Great to hear you got outdoors today. There is something about getting out in the fresh air that really helps the healing. How's the swelling today? Any better?

Hang in there Natalie!

Oh man Natalie! Not what I wanted to hear! Just keep on doing what you are doing I guess. Is your TED sock still cutting into your knee area? Does taking it off for a bit help at all? You were up and about today. Might just be increased activity. Take care!

That is a bummer girlfriend - take it easy and maybe it will ease up - thinking of you!!!

xoxox,

Linda.

Thanks ladies xxx

Yes it is still cutting in Jaycey I have been taking it off evry morning to shower and keep it off for an hour or so but I haven't noticed it's made much of a difference to be honest :skp:

Nate..it is just part of the territory...swelling and discomfort. I found the swelling into my shin vERY irritating. I did not wear ted hose because they cause whelps on my legs!!! Not sure about the size of you Teds, but if they are made in larger sizes. Check on line...come in as large as 2x.

oh, good - that hopefully will help you out a lot - how long do you have to wear yours? I can't remember what they told me, lol

I just did my exercises, OMG, my hip is like butter now, lol!

xoxoxo,

Lin

Natalie - hope you don't have to wait too long for the new TEDs. Any chance you can ask if you can shorten the wearing time?

At the hospital they said I had to wear them 6 weeks post-op. But when I went to my GP to have my staples out the nurse said wear them until I was 3 weeks out. If you are moving around there is less chance of clotting. You might check with your GP.

Good luck!

Thanks Jaycey I will ask the nurse this week the hospital did say 6 weeks too.
Linda I have just done my exercises too!!
I had some visitors this morning and I satdownstairs with them and I was fine for about 2 hours and they were just leaving and I started feeling shaky and funny!so I had a lie down and felt better I think it's the lack of sleep I'm only getting a full hour at the most before I'm woken up by pain or twitching!!

Well, I have to say that a 2-hour visit is QUITE long. I don't blame you for feeling tired after that!! Sure hope you'll be able to get more sleep soon. Just try and nap whenever and wherever you can.

I just had a visitor for an hour and I'm wiped - but don't have too much time to rest b/c going to my family Dr. this afternoon (they told me to go see him, not sure why...). It was nice though b/c I don't get a lot of visitors...

xoxox,

Lin

Hope it goes alright at the doctors Linda x I haven't had many visitors either up until now and everyone wants to come at the same time this week!
Jamie I was thinking whilst they were here that I could really do with a kip now!I wish I had just said it instead of thinking it!
I find myself keep falling asleep for 20 minutes or so then being wide awake again it's very strange!
