Dear Liveringer. You are making great progress and Kim22 what I have realised in the last two weeks is there is no rush ...we are pain free...that's the great thing.....Teacat...its good that you feel scared your body is not ready....I just practice's moving my leg slightly closer that eventually I began to reach my sock... You are right about the ice cream....there are not pitted....the skins are very soft and all is juicy....mmmmmmmh

Hey clifford, great update, you are continuing to recover at a smooth pace, sorry to hear you had a bit of a tumble but pleased it was a soft fall and no damage done.

Just have to say and I'm sorry to be offensive to the revered plums :heehee: but I think they look pretty unappetising....*ducks head in case an angry flying plum heads my way*.......definitely needs a dollop of ice cream to make them look more appealing.

Take care

Ann

clifford149 Very good recovery report. It sounds like you're making more and more progress. Feeling less like a hippy is exactly what you want!
Now for the plums --- thank you for posting the picture, they look like what I would imagine. And I think they also look quite tasty, soft and juicy and sweet. Yum, it's no wonder you love them so much! And that nice color means they're full of anti-oxidants and vitamins and such to keep us healthy (and regular, too, of course.) :) Vanilla ice cream or even whipped cream would turn them into a delicious dessert.
Keep up the good work on your recovery and give Sky a nice pat for me. :puppysmooze:

clifford149, sounds like you are going well. I've had a couple of good days myself. Been to the shops and visiting friends, and not using the walking stick at all! Went out again last night (Oh how I love going out, I had forgotten how much I missed that) to see a rhythm and blues band at a pub. Awesome night, didn't get up and dance, maybe next time.
I've decided to just cold turkey the Tramadols. I'm hoping I'm over the withdrawals by the time I go back to work.
Love this pain free life!

Ally, read up online before you do that......it's said to be a nasty long detox then withdrawal b/c the stuff has a 17 hour half-life! i love your pain-free life too, especially with how bad you were before :) :) :)

read up online before you do that
I have zauberflöte. I have been weaned down from 400mg per day to 50mg per day over the last 12 weeks or so. It was just the final step, that last tablet that had to go. I am having withdrawal symptoms, but I am handling them now I know what is causing them. Thanks for worrying about me :)

Allycat wow.... 12 weeks... do you know, 4 years ago when my primary care dr rx'd trmadol for me, he said, "oh don't worry, it's very safe! My wife takes it!". He has since changed his tune a little.....I hope you are over it very soon :)

Dear hippy friends ...my 9 week postop report

1. Went swimming for the first time yesterday I waited until I felt confident about getting out of the pool
2. I walk my dog around the park unaided takes about 20 minutes
3. We have an arts festival and at the weekend I spent nearly four hours visiting artist houses...I was pretty tired with back ache
4. I weighed myself today and surprisingly have not put on any weight :)
5. My ROM is improving but still some groin pain as I bring my knee toward my chest
6. A big thanks to everyone

clifford149 Thats a great report. It is a joy to read your encouraging reports. You are sounding like you are getting back to a life without pain and enjoying the things you use to. :goodpost:

clifford149 what a great update! I bet that swim was heaven :)
I would think with all those plums, you would have put on 5-10 lbs!  You know, I only have 4 weeks and 3 days before I also must begin pining for plums....they are an essential part of recovery!

Hi .......best wishes on Tuesday....will keep an eye on your recovery :)

oh man clifford149 you are too funny!!! And your eyes are such a gorgeous color! Like my husbands, but he wears tinted contacts, and all he could get the last time was blue. Pretty weird to me...
I'm honored...

Hi.....I had second thoughts in case they were frightening.

How far do you have to travel to get to the hospital.....I was given a special gel wash to use the night before and again for the morning and stop taking any medications 48 hours before the operation....take your smart phone with you...we want real time commentary....attached was my postop photo
