Janet....how are things going, hon???

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Hiya Jamie. Thanks for asking. I've been having a terrible time actually. I went back on Cymbalta yesterday (lower dose, fingers crossed on the sweating) as I couldn't stop crying .

I just got so depressed, just way too much going on both physically and emotionally. And having no control over any of it. Well, enough of the pity party, this too shall pass.

So needless to say, I couldn't even open the laptop to read as I couldn't hold it or do anything with my hands. Today is the first day they have been some what calm. Hopefully, the Cymbalta will take care of "it", what ever "it" is.

So, tomorrow I will try to type the latest in my quest for happy hips. The sugery for #2 is still on for March 14th. Pre-op is Wednesday and a lot has been going on.

I have missed all of you and hope to be back full force :th_heehee: soon.

BTW, is it possible to change the title on my three threads to Nanamac's Story - Part 3 (and 1 & 2)? It is hard to find now where it is by BoneSmart Bot. I often search for members by name, not thread title. Thanks Jamie.

I have changed the titles in all three threads, Janet. Hope the meds do the trick and you are feeling better soon.

Hope you feel better soon Janet, March 14 will come around soon hon :) xx

Janet,

Hopefully the Pre-op will be reassuring and get you in the "Final Stretch" mode.

From that point to the surgery was pretty quick for me...and then you can check another of the to-do's off your list!

Z

Glad you checked in, Janet. Have been worried about you. Sorry you have had the blues, but praying they do get better very soon!

I'm having a pretty good morning so figured I'd update since the "restless" arms are behaving...

Ok, where did I leave off...

Had my Gyno surgery and it was easy-peasy as I stated earlier. Results came back ok. All's well in that department :th_heehee:..

Started with the restless arms and legs and although the legs have responded to an increase in requip, my arms have been driving me mad, seriously mad.

I have been going to bed at around 7pm just to escape the horrid feeling. Nothing that I have done has relieved it, so, this week I went back on the Cymbalta that was working fine, but making me sweat profusely. This is a lower dose, so hopefully it works as I think there is a commection to me stopping it and the RL&AS.

I couldn't type as it would set it right off so I'm being very cautious and making the most of feeling ok at the moment.

I've seen a Psysiatrist for the femur pain, seen the OS and had a nerve block that will take two weeks to see if it works on the femur pain. Personally, I think it's a stretch as there is an empingement at L4-5, but I think it has to do with the THR/fractured femur.

Wednesday I have my Pre-op testing and also have to donate blood, something i didn't have to do last time around. I've never done this as I have always been a very difficult draw (very tiny veins) so we shall see.

I actually had a PICC line put in at my revision sugery as they could never get a vein no matter where they tried. That was used for everything and was a blessing!

Thursday night I am having a sleep study as now on top of everything else, my GP things I have sleep apnea . Then next week it's back to the hospital to see the Spine Doc again.

My surgery is scheduled for March 14th and my only concern is that my THR leg is so bad, it will be like having bilats. BUT, I am going thru with this now to show the OS just how bad this leg really is. he can't find anything wrong, but once I am in the hospital, othere will see what I mean and he will have to listen then.

I am certian there will be a second revison after i get this second hip taken care of....

Sorry, can't type anymore,,,:cry4:

Janet, I think that's routine to have a sleep study screen with RLS. I had to have one with TMJ. There's some kind of correlation in all that. ENT asked me a couple of questions, and he said I did not have sleep apnea. I know my husband does though...he won't admit it/seek treatment.

But, those who have it really do well and are happy with their sleeping mask. So may be a good thing.

So wishing you well on whatever they find in that!

@Josephine: I have a question. I am scheduled to have my teeth cleaned the day before my THR. Should I cancel it? I will ask at my pre-op on Wednesday, but just curious...

I also found out that I am NOT required to donate my own blood so I think I will pass on that one. I am totally needle-phobic :hate-shocked:and have enough to deal with ahead of me...

Roll on the 14th March Janet February will soon be over.not long now and hopefully you will be on the road to the recovery you deserve. :thumb:

Lots of hugs Billy xx

Yup, on the mend from leg #2 and then I start to deal with #1 all over again ...

I would sooner ask your surgeon rather than the pre-op nurse. You could ring his secretary and ask her to pass on a message. But personally, I would cancel it.

Hi Janet,

Just wanted to let you know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm praying that March 14th is the beginning of your new and successful road to recovery :prayer1:

Liz

Thanks guys.

Yes Jo, I decided to cancel tomorrow anyway :wink1:...thank you.

I think that's wise, Janet. A routine thing like teeth cleaning can wait a bit and you need to be sure you are 100% on surgery day!

Hi Janet, just dropping by to remind you I am sending you all those positive
((((((((((vibes))))))))). Hang in there!

Janet-Thank you for letting us know how your getting along. I truly hope all this settles quickly for you!

My husband has sleep apnea and his CPAP machine has helped us BOTH tremendously. Sleep apnea can do all kinds of weird things to your body.

My OS says no dental cleanings, etc 3 weeks pre op.

As always keeping you in my thoughts:friends:

Hi Janet so pleased to hear from you and to know you are feeling a little better. Not long now and hopefully there will be great improvements for you. Has Bill dug out his apron and rubber gloves?! Any news on your SIL and his mum? Take care dear
Love
Anne xxx

Hi Janet,

Will continue the prayers for you and we are all rooting for you to be on the mend after your 2nd new hip. Really hoping after the new hip that you can take it a day at a time and get all of your issues headed in the right direction. Hang in there sweetie...
