Re: This is my story - Part 3

Thanks fellow hippies! I am seeing my Psychopharmacologist (SP?) tomorrow as I took "4" .25 Xanax yesterday as it is my arms that are so bad! I was zonked :rolleyespink: for sure! Of course I "googled" to make sure I wasn't going to hurt myself ...

I have had RLS for years and NEVER have had it in my arms. It happened after I stopped the Cymbalta and Prednisone and then had the minor surgery a few weeks later. Have no idea what set this off, but I can't even explain how awful the feeling is. Truly maddening!

I know, a minor thing to complain about in the overall scheme of things, but just trying to explain why I haven't been able to type...

Later, a house full of football fans...

GO PATRIOTS!!!

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Hi everyone. Boy, I have been a mess and am still having a terrible time using my hands beause of the Restless Arms or whatever is going on. So, I am going to try to become involved again but I have been having a really awful time for about 10 days now. Using my hands has been just terrible! Sleep has been my only escape from this.

So, I haven't been able to use my laptop much in that time as any movement was setting this off. I have tried to read, but just couldn't. I am feeling a bit better now that I was able to increase my Requip, so hopefully I am back. I miss you guys!

I am walking with crutches now as the pain in my hip awaiting the surgery has been dreadful. It came on very suddenly and I am trying NOT to think about the surgery on March 14th.

After my past nightmare, I figure things can only go smooth this time, right? Anyway, hip #1 is going to be addressed on Monday. I am seeing the OS to find out about the wires coming out or what is going to happen as I can't take any more and will be literally legless after this surgery.

All in all, the THR on #1 was a complete success, but the fractured femur is still what has been bothering me for almost 2 years now. I am planning on this hospital stay resolving the issues for both.

I am also dealing with a very serious health problem that my SIL is going through and prayers would be greatly appreciated. He was bumped into accidentally while playing hockey, fell and hit the back of his head and suffered a severe concussion even though he was wearing a helmet. This was a few weeks ago and the ongoing migraine, sensitivity to light or sound etc. is showing signs of being a brain stem injury.

Financially they are in a terrible mess and my dauhter is trying to hold everything together. The emotional worries of course are taking their toll on them as well as the physical. I am feeling very helpless as I can't go there to help and his mom is going thru cancer treatment right now.

Please pray for them. That is all that I can do for them right now, try to get some prayers and healing vibes sent their way. I appreciate how much you have all been there for me for the past 19+ months and I sure need you now more than ever.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart :ATT637464:

Re: This is my story - Part 3

I will keep both you ,your nephew? and your SIL in my thoughts, lots of positive vibes.

Please let us know what the OS says Monday.

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Oh Janet honey,

I had a feeling there was a lot going on for you when we hadn't heard from you in quite a while.

My gosh, you certainly are having your fair share of life's challenges that is for sure... I remember saying at the start of the year, that I thought it would be a better year for you... But I still believe things will turn around.

You most certainly have our prayers, good wishes, love, warm fuzzies, hugs.....

And we are here for you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx lots of love, Sandy

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Sandy, I honestly couldn't type! I am trying NOT to over do it now as it is still bothering me. I just wanted you all to know why I haven't been participating. Certainly NOT because I haven't wanted to :wink1:...

PS...I see your new title. Congratulations. I haven't read anything yet on anyone's threads and don't know if I am able yet. Please understand how I can't use my hands much, and typing is setting it off again.

More Later, I hope...XOXOX

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Hi Janet

I was glad to see you back on BoneSmart, though not with good news.

My career has been in journalism and publishing, and by chance yesterday I was reminded of a short period in the 70s when I edited a women's magazine problem page. I was in my early 20s at the time, and had led pretty much a privileged life. My experience of life's great mysteries was mostly based on obscure lyrics from rock'n'roll.

I would receive readers' letters where, like you, they were coping with nice hefty big chunks of life's various adventures, disasters, and problems. And then I would offer my advice.

Priceless advice? Er, no, I think "worthless" would just about sum it up. Which is how I feel now.

I think I have told you before that I am a devout atheist. Nothing I have experienced in life ever leads me to question that belief. I don't do prayer.

But I do so much hope that things will start to turn round for you and your family in the spring of 2012. All the best to you.

Glynis

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Janet,

Hoping your feeling better with the restless arms and legs... and of course everything else too. I have much faith that you will over come the challenges, and
obstacles you have had to face over the past couple of years. Your a kind person that has kept your spirit and continue to keep a positive attitude...you will get through this one way or another.

Keeping you in my prayers to give you strength, and that the Doctors treating you have the knowledge and compassion to help you.

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Janet,

Of course, prayers for you and your family. The power of prayer has helped me through many a rough spot and can help you too. So glad you are able to keep us updated and are feeling a little better. Hopefully after March things will only look up for you. Hang in there and even if you can't post we are thinking of you and are here for you. Take care.

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Thank you for the love and kindness, as always. The worse part of this is being so helpless. My situation physically is what it is. But I can't be there for my daughter to help her out, and my SIL's mom just started agressive cancer treatment and is in another state as well.

So both of us who would be there for them are not well and to feel so helpless is a terrible thing.

As for me, I see the spine specialist (first :yes 4:) as well as the hip specialist tomorrow. I'm not one to throw anyone under the bus, but the spine doc is certainly going to get an earful about my hip guy.

I have a plan, as usual, but won't share until I see what happens with both tomorrow. Please send me waves of strength and courage to get through this next battle.

I already have an OR booked for March 14th, but I am hoping for a change of plans for that day...

Re: This is my story - Part 3

Dearest Janet,

Of course we will send you all the strength, courage and prayers you need to get through this next leg (or should I say hip, ha!) of your journey. Hang in there, taking it one day at a time. We're with you.
