sandybeach I've just realised that you have your 2nd hip op due quite soon!! I have to have my other one done, how do you feel about the length of time you've left between operations do yoy thinks it's about right?
ByGosh & bottomshollow I've heard both of the lyrics you've quoted although I'd never have been able to remember all of the words!! zauberflöte I think our kids make up their own words when their little and whereas some might say pisketti some say basketti I'm sure mine said busketti ha ha!! :loll:

My dad used to start out quite nicely,
"The boy stood on the burning deck.."
and then...he'd continue...
"Eating peanuts by the peck!"

bottomshollow Good one, I like it. And of course Littlejem, basketti, pisketti, tomato, tomatoe, it's all the same.
Now zauberflöte you're not dyslexic. You like word play, backwards, forwards, rhymes and everything else. I do, too. I also like limericks and will have to create one for we hippies.

ByGosh yes ma'am I'm from Virginia-- a Richmonder transplanted to Hampton Roads.
And-- I know I'm not dyslexic silly! :) However, both my sons are pretty darn dysgraphic. The elder can type fast enough to keep up with his thoughts, but the younger not so much.
1. There once was a hip in distress...

?? Not sure what the discussion in the past few posts are about... But sounds like you are having fun :)

@Littlejem @ zauberflote
1.There once was a hip in distress
2.Hurt so much it couldn't get dressed..
3. So with help from Bone Smarties
4. And online hen parties
5. The hip thought it best to just rest!

Let's start another:
1. There once was a gal from the South

Hope it's ok to join in, I couldn't resist-

2. Oh my, did she have a mouth

Oh Littlejem I changed my line but changed it back since you wrote the third. I can't get it out of my head, it's addictive!

1. There once was a gal from the South
2. Oh my, did she have a mouth
3. When asked to refrain
4. She said, "Talk to the drain!!"
ByGosh Weezi Littlejem (alternate line was "she said,'spare me the pain'" but I wanted her to be mouthy......
ByGosh, are you talking about any particular gal from the South??????:skep: :heehee: :loll:

zauberflöte, Oh, I like them both! My alternate line was "she heard by word of mouth" for the context. Just in case ByGosh was referring to herself. However, I am from the south and I can talk an ear off. :heehee: Oh and Happy 1 week Littlejem! Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary as well!

Littlejem I do have my second surgery coming up in about 3 weeks. I think I will be ready. I am going to be glad to get it over with being that I know it has to be done. What are you looking at for time between surgeries?

Weezi Happy anniversary!!!!
We need that last line...I'm gonna wait for@ByGosh :) There is nothing that rhymes! But... and this is true,
5. 'Cause I am the gal from Ports-mouth! (but you have to mispronounce it to make it work, so I don't know...)

sandybeach thanks for your reply, my page is a bit off track at the moment being a little silly and it feels great!! We haven't fixed a solid date yet for my second op, surgeon said 6 weeks minimum but I wondered if that would be too soon, looks like you are happy to go with it though? My other option was to go back to work for say 6 weeks and then have it done but I don't need to decide just yet. At the moment being just 8 days post op I feel wonderful, I'm walking round the house with no stick (cane) and managing to empty/fill the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. I was going to try a short walk yesterday but we had quite a bit of snow, it's mostly gone this morning so I'll see if I can do that walk up the street. My other leg is certainly playing up albeit not so bad as it was because I'm not doing an awful lot!
