Thought I'd post a quick update...I'm doing pretty well - walking just find un-aided...I have to remind myself I'm only 4 weeks out b/c I want to b healed already!!! I woke up today w/ pink eye - eeewww not so fun! Yesterday I got my hair done and went to lunch w/ hubby - was nice to do some normal things but it did tire me out so today I just rested.

Westin starts school in a week - I can't believe it! I will go swimming for the first time either Sat or Sun - am really looking fw to it - OS said I could go as early as last week but I wanted to wait an extra week..

went to pain Dr. and have started cutting back on meds - will go down a little every two weeks - seems to b ok.

gotta run Bill just got home,
xoxo,
Linda

So glad you are getting out and about Linda! Finally - you are seeing progress. Do allow yourself time for rest tough - still early days!

longtime no update - things not much changed - been really busy w/ Westin graduating pre-school, starting Kgarten, Leo changing rooms, Mom and Mom-in-law visiting, just trying to live my life while still healing - its been difficult...

one thing I'm nervous about is that I won't b starting PT until I'm almost 8 weeks post-op as my Dr. likes to wait - I'm nervous that is too late to start???

Also, since I look normal my husband thinks I should b functioning normal - really difficult :sigh:

xoxo,
Linda

Hi Linda, good to hear from you!

Please don't worry about starting PT at 8 weeks. After all you have been through it is probably better that you start when you are well healed.

I have been through the "looking normal" bit - my sympathies! Just remind hubby that you are only just weeks out of major surgery and still under restrictions. You still need time to heal and it is not going to happen overnight. Be firm on this and please don't feel pressure to do more just to satisfy others. It's time to think about what you need.

Hang in there Linda. I know you can get through this. You are one tough lady!

Hey there Linda,

You have a lot on your plate right now. Visitors and all with school starting, that's a lot.

Yep, the looking normal thing, no the feeling too........

I'm so glad you are done with all of it and hopefully things will start to really get on a upswing for you soon.

Hoping Hurricane Irene doesn't go your way or change and come more my way. Keeping an eye out for her and right now looks more in your direction. Be Careful !!

Boy Linda, Jaycey and I sure have got your back! We did before and I echo her now as well. Hubby needs a lttle more patience, about a years worth, and then he can expect you to be back to" normal", what ever that is.

I 'm sure this hasn't been a picnic for him or the kids, but having been in your shoes (well, one of them) he needs more PATIENCE.

We keep preaching that to forum members, well, same goes to family members.

Tell him not to make us go there :elfrevenge::elfrevenge:.. :hysterical:.

What you're going through with your hubby thinking all is normal again is really common. It's one reason we joke that the best plan is to stay in jammies for at least 6 months so everyone knows you're still healing :hysterical:! Not practical, but maybe the thought will make you smile!

You are right on Jamie. I have always had this problem as I am just not the robe and slippers kind of gal. If you start looking the least bit "normal" friends and family start asking for more.

Linda - you have the troops behind you my friend! You are doing absolutely great. Don't let anyone make you think anything different!

Thanks everyone - I went to pain Dr. today and stepping down another level...wish me luck! Have to rest now before Westin gets off the bus! Yesterday he missed it and the principal rolled on up into our drive!

xoxo,
Linda

Glad you are allowing more rest time Linda. You deserve it!

Linda, I am so proud of you, with all you have gone through and continue to go through. You are one special little lady!

WOW! That can be a first in Westin's baby book!

Well just found out my nanny's Dad passed and Bill is leaving in the morning until Monday - a little stressed!!! Gotta find someone to help me - my sister from Raleigh is supposed to b coming out tomorrow but won't get here until 10pm and she's leaving at Noon on Sunday....:secretaea:

xoxo,
Linda

Gee Linda, do you have any new neighbors that could help you out in the interim? Just a thought...

Last night was not a good one at home - hubby had a minor breakdown and was yelling and swearing ect - was not good - glad he is gone for a few days...

I was supposed to go to a volunteer breakfast to kick off the school year at my son's school today and also to lunch w/ a good friend and had to cancel both b/c I just could't get out of bed in time to get ready and need to nap - my hip is hurting more than usual today...I'm just so sick of not being able to live my life and feel like since we just moved here a short time ago I'm going to loose the friends I've made as I have to be so unsocial right now - I know that may sound irrational but I can't help the way I feel

Well back to take a nap,
xoxoxo,
Linda

Linda, you been through a lot, and it takes so long to recover even though you are looking well. I cannot imagine how I would have dealt with your health/recovery issues and having young children. You deserve a medal. Don't worry about your social life now. Real friends will be there for you, just let them you are not ok. No need in always keeping up a brave front. My thoughts are with you. You still need a lot of rest to function again as wife and mom.

Linda you sound like you are just worn out! Slow down girl! Friends can wait. You need your rest.

Please take some time for rest so that you can do the minimum for your kids. Everything else can wait a few more weeks.

Hey Linda,

How are you doing this afternoon? Have you got some rest? I'm sorry to hear about last night. It's good he has a few days to be away. I know I've been glad the last couple weeks when Mark has been traveling for work. Sometimes it's easier for them not to have to see it all. For you however it's much harder with the boys being so small. I hope things are better when he returns and I hope you feel a bit better soon as well.

xoxo
