:console:It's ok! You are in a lot of pain so go ahead and vent. Gee Linda, it's not like you are doing this stuff on purpose. Your poor little back has been through so much. Don't beat yourself up.

Well, I hope and pray that things settle down. Hang in there otherwise. This is not your fault! Just unfortunate circumstanes. (((HUGS)))

Feel better sweetie. Wish I could say or do something to help

Of course you have our support and we can take any "vent" you can dish out. Janet is right that your pain puts a cloud on everything. Certainly don't make any rash statements to hubby or decisions under these conditions. I'm sure he's as frustrated as you are and it takes a toll.

Maybe you can sit down and talk about it all with him soon. Sometimes just clearing the air can help.

What was the hospital diagnosis then? Muscle spasm?

Linda, I have been where you are so many times! I know it is hard when you feel unsupported and are in pain.

Not to make excuses but I have found that men take it out on you when they can't make things better or control the situation. I am sure your husband would like you to feel better for more reasons than missing his guys weekend. He's just as frustrated as you that these things keep happening.

Jamie is right - don't make any decisions right now. Get your pain under control. Talk to your husband if you can. And most important - please do not ever feel you are to blame!

I am so with you on this one Linda. Hang in there!

hi,
well started PT today and here I am wide awake at 3am! wonder what the correlation is? my legs are fatigued and moving around kinda like RLS...sometimes when I used to run a lot I'd have trouble sleeping too - which I know is an oxymoron statement but all I can say is that its true.

so I decided to do the drive 2x a week instead of going to the facility that's close to me so I can have my old PT person back - then when I got there they tried to suck a student on me and I said "no way" i don't care if he thought I was mean but I came all the way for who I want!

she said im doing excellent w/ my ROM in both hips...also strength wise look great...what she said isn't so good is my back - which i knew...so we will start w/ simple strengthing my core and go from there...

when i got out of there my legs felt like jelly and that was mostly an evaluation appt...kinda nervous but looking fw to getting the next step toward my recovery going...i still take loads of meds and have a lot of pain but on the other hand i can see the light at teh end - just faintly...as least I know I have the worst behind me - please pray to God xxx - maybe the fact that we've started goign to church again, last week, will help out more than one thing (kids started religious education)...

thanks to all who take the time to read my saga,
xoxoxo,
Linda.

Hi Linda, I had the same problem with feeling very restless post PT. If you are muscle sore heat might help. Can you take Melatonin to help you sleep?

Don't blame you at all for demanding the right PT person. That's so important! You have a complex case. No need for you to have to train the student.

All the best Linda. You'll get there!

Well done Linda, so pleased for you, it can only get better from here on. Lots of love Smja from Australia

Jaycey, I take the strongest amount of Ambien that's allowed as well as 1 whole mg of ativan every night so I don't think melatonin would work but I guess I could give it a try - thanks for the suggestion!

My legs and back are sore today - nothing like 5 loads of laundry won't cure:DOH:
I have to also make sure the house is picked up - last time Bill was away for five days the first thing he said to me what its frustrating the house is so messy when I come home - I felt like belting him one but just shut my mouth

Taking my Mom to the airport in a few - thanks for listening,
xoxoxo,
Linda

Hi Linda
Been following your updates and it seems you are seeing some progress--yea!! You are young and are handling this challenge with tremendous courage and sense of responsibility towards your family. Give yourself a couple of big pats on the back, girl! :thumb:

And be sure you have respite time and, sometimes, it helps to just go with the flow and not analyze--including the behavior of the confused distraught spouse!

:hairpulling: You did far better than I would Linda! Please don't be too hard on yourself. You are still recovering from major surgery - not to mention back issues!

This is progress, Linda!! Good for you. I think you are doing very, very well and I'm proud of you for insisting on the therapist you wanted. Hang in there.

hi all -

just thought I'd update - have starred PT - is very challenging...I am almost 12 weeks but still have a moderate amount of pain and fatigue...I feel like it will never end - I know it will but it will b a while...last year I had surgery at the same time and didn't feel good until March :secretaea:

Just trying to carry on w/ my duties as a mother and homemaker...nothing much new...

take care,
xoxoxo,
Linda.

Aw Linda, I have been thinking about you a lot lately as I have just finished a house move. I have no idea how you managed a move so early out from your last surgery. You are a real trooper!

Hang in there Linda. You had a bad start after this op. It will take time but you will get there! Please don't let PT push you too much. You have enough on your plate already!

Take care Linda!

It is good to hear from you, Linda. I know this recovery seems just to plod on and on, but you really are making progress. Even small steps forward count, you know!!! You'll get there. Do continue to post and let us know what's going on in your life when you can. I know that's rough with all you have going on. ((((HUGS)))))

Hi all - its been a LONG time since an update - just busy w/ life I guess...things have SLOWLY been improving for me - it just seems to take me forever to heal - i occasiionally now have some "good" days which is a relief...I am just so busy w/ appts. and errands most days and then Westin gets off bus at 245 pm each afternoon which really cuts my day short...my nanny left us about a month ago and while its been challenging im doing ok...I'm still going to PT but that will end at the end of the year (due to financial reasons) I am still determined to start running again sometime next year if recovery continues to move forward..
my pain mgt dr is pleased at the progress I've made = I'm currently on 60 mg of oxycodone a day as apposed to the 300 I was on post-op....i continue to wean slowly down each month! i guess thats it for now - im up in the middle of the night b/c for the past few days ive been power walking which seems to wake me up at night for some reason (maybe b/c my metabolism is going back up???) so just took some meds and time for sleepy. sorry about not updating more often, life is just so crazy w/ 2 small children and a hubby that does still travel sometimes!
xoxoxoxxoxo,
Linda

Nice to hear from you Linda !!! I know you've been busy with the kids and sickness and all and that is tough. Hopefully both the boys will now stay healthy and the whole house will remain healthy. :thumb:

I hope things continue getting better for you so you can do all those things you enjoy. Sounds like you are doing great with the meds.

Keep it up !! :friends:

Great to hear from you Linda! Glad things are going well and you are keeping busy.

Just a thought - are you doing your power walking at the end of the day. Sometimes doing exercise late in the day over stimulates and keeps you awake. Can you do it earlier in the day? Just a thought.

Please do keep in touch!

I am walking mid-day around noon...my son is home w/ stomach virus today - I am praying the rest of the family including me doesn't catch it as it usually stay w/ me for a couple of weeks not days...
xoxo,
Linda

Hi Linda, just been catching up on your post. Glad things are slowly getting there for you. We all have our own journeys to make and take, and some of us seem to take the long and winding road rather than the direct route!

Hope you dont get your little ones bug!

Tanny x

Hi all - update - I did my first ever body pump class at the gym today - I can really feel it and i think will regret going at it so eagerly tomorrow, LOL - but - I am thrilled I was even able to do it (although half of it was done w/out any weights) I don't think I've ever done so many squats at one time!!! I'm still healing and can't wait to c how I am this summer!!!
xoxox,
Linda

Oh dear - time for a nice hot bath to soak those muscles. Hope you are fighting fit tomorrow!
