So good to hear things are heading in the right direction Linda.

Perhaps your pain meds have not had a chance to make the impact they should as you have not been able to hold anything down for very long. Just rest and get them back on track.

Of course you are tired. No sleep, major surgery and a nasty virus on top of it all. You poor thing!

Rest, ice, elevate and meds. You are on the recovery road now. So happy for you! :yay:

Yup, I agree with everything Jaycey just said. Especially with your tolerance for pain meds. They have literally gone right through you!

I got out of the house today (just in the van but still) :yay:

we went to Bruster's Ice Cream shop drive thru w/ the whole family - it was great - I had nutty coconut ice cream w/ a waffle cone - the other half is stilling in the freezer downstairs, couldn't even eat all of it but it was delish!

just thought I'd share an accomplishment, small that it is, its still to b celebrated :yahoo:

xoxo,
Linda.

:yahoo:That's great Linda !!!!! I'm sure it was so nice to get out of the house and to even be able to eat something like ice cream !!

Glad to hear things are starting to go your way, you deserve it.

Double :yahoo::yahoo:!!! There you go, that's my girl! So glad to hear it sweetie. Now I can breath a little :hapydancsmil:...You really had me worried!

Linda - this is great news!!! You made my mouth water at the mention of coconut ice cream, so I googled 'Bruster's Ice Cream shop' and there is one about 13 miles from me - may have to go check it out before Weds.

Liz

Linda....I'm so happy to hear you got out. And what a way to do it....special yummy ice cream!!! You got my taste buds workin', girl!!! I know your family was thrilled to see you doing something "normal" like this too. It's a special milestone.

Hi Linda!
I've been following your story since June but due to frustrating computer issues couldn't reply until now. I was so HAPPY to read of your excursion to the ice cream shop! :yay: Things will be getting better for you everyday. :thumb:

I was just out on the new couch we bought in our loft enjoying being with the boys and watching TV when Westin was laying down w/ his feet next to my replaced hip - he had his legs bent at the knee so they were up at 90% angle and then all of a sudden brought them crashing down on my leg (I have the anterior approach) :hate-shocked:

Needless to say I screamed bloody murder and scared the you know what out of them :rolleyespink: I know nothing was seriously damaged but wow, that was painful!!!

Now I'm back to icing :hairpulling:

Ouch I am sorry!!! I hope it feels better soon. Overall though it sounds like you are improving a lot!

My son had a nightmare last night and came into bed with me. I been sleeping in my daughters bed because at time I will rest my leg on it. Well one time during the night I dunno who did something but I bashed it into the wall! Guess I am lucky it was the wall and not onto the floor. I screamed as well lol.

:hate-shocked:! I heard that, but didn't know what it was! You OK? :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Yikes! I grabbed my hip when I read your post! Hope you are OK! Please let us know.

I'm ok, fortunately I don't think it was a very hard hit although at the time it felt like it :cry4: But I don't seem much worse for wear today.

Went to pain Dr. today - whole process from leaving house to returning took 3 hours and I'm wiped out! They are cutting me down very slowly and I am comfortable w/ everything regarding my meds at this time :thumb:

Although I know I'm still in the very early days of recovery I'm still going stir-crazy - I want to go to community pool which is pretty close to where we live (I walked to/from yesterday just for some exercise). I see OS on Fri so hopefully he will release me to swim but maybe not yet...:sigh:

Dr. did tell me to try to get out each day - maybe will go to lunch (just fast-food) w/ one of my kids tomorrow and my MIL - would get me outta house for an hour or so :wink1:

I'm worried for her to leave in a week b/c won't have anyone to take me to Dr. appts, pain dr. appts, and pt appts. maybe my after-school nanny would b able to help...

Time for dinner,
xoxo,
Linda.

Oh sweetie! You sound so good! Thank goodness! So sorry your worst nightmare was realized, but you got through it, again, you little fighter!

Hang in there a bit longer hon, you are doing fantastic all things considering. And after having the bug to boot! Wish I could be there for you when MIL leaves...:cry4:
