I agree....you are just worn out and that causes all kinds of stress. Please try to rest and nap as much as possible. You NEED to do this for you and for your family. Even God rested one day a week, you know!!!:th_heehee:

Oh my dear little buddy. Hopefully your sister has arrived and can cheer you up. And I agree that I think it may be a good thing for you and Bill to blow off a little steam away from each other.

My mother always said that we always hurt the ones that we love, in fact she used to sing the song when I was little. So true. A year ago I said that in a year you would look back and say, "how did we get thru this?". Well, that time came and went, and then you got hit again, and again...it has been an unending battle.

However, again I will say it, in a year, this too will be long past, the boys will be older, you will be stronger and healthier, and in my honest oppinion, you and Bill will be in a good place.

Life has it's ups and downs for sure. You have cornered the market on them in a year! So hold on tight, take care of what you can, which is YOU, and the rest will come together. Bill is young too Linda. Of course he wants everything pictuer perfect but, ain't happening right now.

That being said, he's got to learn how to deal with it, whether he talks to someone, plays golf or blows off steam some other way, but getting upset with you is not going to change the situation. You know that and I really think he knows that too.

You two have so much going on right now, little kids, new job and home, health issues, and you gotten this far, and you will survive it.

Hang in there sweetie. Do the best you can do, but this isn't your fault, so don't beat yourself up on top of everything else :friends:.

I just got bit by a red ant - it hurts - burning and itches and a welt has formed - should I be concerned? I cleaned it and took Benadryl...??????

Linda, I don't think this should be a concern as far as your hip goes....just the normal concern any time a person gets bitten by red ants. That is VERY painful!!!

Here is a broken link removed: https://www.fireant.net/Bites/.

thanks Jamie.

I'm having a pity party today - had plans to g to pool w/ kids and my sister and just dont have the energy...this sounds horrible to say but I'm sick of my kids - they are sucking the energy out of me and I feel like I never have a break - Bill is gone for 2 weekends in a row (which is good) but I'm so envious of - I just want to wake up one morning in peace...feel like a terrible mom but i can't help feeling the way I do...Westin has a playdate at 2pm and then we have a bday party at 5pm - I was looking fw to it yesterday but today is seems like I don't have the energy to get thru it....feel like crying but i know if i start i won't b able to stop...

sorry for the whine but don't know where else to turn to...

xoxo,
Linda

Cry, honey. Tears are very therapeutic. (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Linda, it's very understandable to feel that way, everyone mom has at some point and I really don't think they can say they never have felt that way. It's hard to deal with and when you don't feel good and everyone else is getting on with their lives it just plain sucks. Have your pity party and don't worry that you are. You will have days like that until the kids are grown and gone. Mine are all grown and out and I sometimes have those days. It just happens.

Chin up and it will get better.

:friends:

Ahh, so sorry you are feeling down. I think Julie is right, there will be ups and downs all the while they are growing up. But as you are recovering, sounds like you need a good cry session (maybe not in front of the kids).

Any mature young teens that need extra money, or even college kids that could help out a little? I realize that costs money for you, but maybe someone around needs a few extra bucks. A lot of times college students are trying to earn money for trips abroad etc.

Do you have a HOA association with a messageboard to maybe find some help? Going rate shouldn't be that high like Nanny pay since it sounds like your kids are past the toddler age. They would probably enjoy getting out or having someone play with them outside etc. And when you don't feel good, you can't enjoy it. All Moms need breaks.

Also, some churches have kids night on Friday or Saturday nights so parents can have their own time out or alone.

Helen, I also was going to suggest a local church. They almost always have people who are more than willing to help out. If you just knew you could count on one afternoon a week, it would help. Put your thinking cap on and start calling around!!!

You know what Linda? It take a lot of sheer guts to say I just don't like being a Mom today! You are one step ahead when you can admit that sometimes it's just not fun.

You are still in recovery and stamina is still an issue. Perhaps the kids need to miss a birthday or two or many they need to stay home and play. Give yourself a break Linda. You are still healing!

Dear Linda,
I agree with Jaycey, its OK to not like being a Mum when you need to be able to concentrate on yourself.
Have a cry, its so releasing, and you need to let it all out. I am so sorry to hear of you distress and hope that you have been able to get some respite from your obviously difficult situation.
Love and good thoughts - I wish I could be there to physically help you.

Oh Linda--I remember the mom days and I can't imagine combining them with hip surgery recovery! I am retired, kids grown, and free of major responsibilities and I still find some rough going. Give yourself some respite time--somehow--maybe the suggestions you got about a mother's helper or such. Give yourself a break and don't fret about wanting alone time--it is natural--you have a lot going on!! :doggieshmooze:

so - Bill's out of town for a guys weekend this weekend - i was supposed to b at beach w/ friend and kids but had to cancel that - so she just came up w/ her son and we went to pool today and had a sitter for tonight to go out to dinner - while in shower picking up my shampoo, i did something major to my back - i cannot even move now and its totally swollen - my friend can see/feel it - cannot move - no dinner and shes' supposed to leave in morning nad bill not due back until 8pm - im am beyond upset - god is def. punishing me for prior sins.

OK! Calm down.. You just moved a disk out of alignment. Call a chiropod OR go to the ER. They can fix this with a push on your spine. You could actually fix this yourself, but I won't go there...

It is NOT a ruptured disc! Believe me. You just pushed a disk out of alignment...it happens, unfortunately...

No, not a disk - muscles in spasm is all. Use a heat pad or ice, do some gentle stretches and rest. And take some pain killers. Tomorrow go see the chiropractor. But don't panic - it will pass.

Yup - sounds like you pulled a muscle Linda. Sorry it altered your plans for the night. But rest and heat should help. Do you have a chiropractor?

Hey Linda..How are you feeling today? Hopefully you are on the mend. I hope I was wrong (more than likely I was very wrong !) and that you just pulled a muscle. Give us an update, ok?

Yes, Linda.....is your back better now? Those muscles spasms can be a real.....PAIN.....literally.

update - may b jumbled a bit b/c on lots of meds - things not much better...spent the day sunday in ER - too 8 hours which was not fun - nothing structurally wrong via xray - gave me IV pain meds and sent me home....i still can barely move - Bill had to come home from guys weekend early and he is not happy - don't know where are marriage is headed...sux big time - I, AGAIN, was finally starting to feel better and now this - I'm really down and somedays feel like walking away from Bill it is so bad....the pain is bad - so there's my update - you probably wish i hadn't given it huh? sorry to b a downer but that's how I feel, hopeless and despair :(
xoxoxo,
Linda
