So sorry you have to go through all this dental stuff!!! Hope the pain can be managed for you. I would imagine this first step is the worst of the stages to go through.

Sometimes life just plain isn't FAIR!!!

Yes from going through this process last year this is the hardest step - and believe me, the most painful - I am up every 2 to 3 hours from pain - day or night - all instructions say peak pain and swelling is @ 48 - 72 hours out of which I'm around 60 hours right now so hopefully in another day or so things will taper off...please pray that happens b/c I'm useless around the house w/ the kids and in a lot of pain :( (and yes on a lot of meds too, darn opiate tolerance)
xoxo,
Linda

So sorry to hear you are having so much pain Linda.. You certainly have my prayers that it will taper off soon xx

Aw feel for you Linda, my partners just had 2 teeth out and he was doing ok until he got an infection. metronidizol and amoxycillan have just about cleared it up.

Good luck with your implant. Have you had one before? Amazing what they can do!

Hi all - fist night I slept through till 5 am when pain awoke me - getting better I suppose...btw, since I have not been able to exercise I have to say my hips feel great but my back is starting to make some noise, LOL
xoxo,
Linda

You will get back to that exercise soon Linda. Glad you finally got some good sleep. Take care and update when you can.

Hi, Linda.....how are you doing? I hope things have leveled out for you.

well, im starting to feel better w/ my tooth (although it stilll hurts, last year when I had this done it bothered me for 3 - 4 weeks) but this week I've been in bed w/ migraine that just wont stop...i've tried everything and every kind of med - its been going on for 4 days now and i'm supposed to be getting ready for my son's 4th birthday party which is on Saturday...it is also the first one we've ever done for him so its kindof a big deal....put on top of that Bill gone on business for 2 days...so I'm not sure when things are going to ever level out - BUT, i really appreciate you asking about it so I can whine :O)
xoxoxo
Linda

Sorry about the migraine... rotten timing for you with the b'day party... Do hope you feel better soon xx

Linda, I hope you're feeling better. Hang in there, okay?

well thanks Alex but I'm afraid not - just got back from another day at the ER - saw my pain dr and they told me to go back to ER for iv pain med relief for the migraine I've been having - well the ER only gave me meds IM instead of IV so that doesn't work as well for me and they wanted to do a CT scan but i didn't have time b/c husband is out of town and had to get kids from daycare....this is now 10 days of headache and 2 trips to ER :( hope everyone is well,
xoxo,
Linda.

Linda.....how are you doing now? Feeling any better? I've been thinking about you.

How's it going Linda? I know I saw on FB that you have the stomach virus now and hope it's getting better. It sure is always something isn't it. Sometimes it just isn't fair.

well thanks guys I appreciate it! It is always something - I do have stomach virus but it's a more moderate version - no vomiting just in the bathroom a lot - TMI I know!!! Tooth is getting much better and migraine is still on/off - I have an appt w/ a neurologist next month...also, I've been trying to wean off meds and also haven't been exercising regularly (due to all my problems) and my hip's been bothering me more than usual but I guess that's to be expected given the circumstances...I'm still glad I'm 7 months out now and look fw to better and better feelings soon!
xoxo,
Linda.

Good to hear from you, Linda. Hang in there and think about Spring!!!

Hi everyone...I wish I had some good news to report as I feel I'm at the point in recovery where I did last year at this time...but instead I am filled w/ dread. I have been ignoring/denying a problem that is getting worse not better.

I have a new, sharp, acute pain in my rear end when I move a certain way - my hip pain has ALWAYS manifested itself in my rear end, not in my groin (until f.h. collapse anyway) - it does not hurt to walk or run only to turn suddenly or move an unusualy way and its getting worse.

I am praying its lack of PT related or muscular or nerve related tho it doesn't feel muscular at all - it feels like something is catching - my greatest fear is that is it the metal debris, or sharpnel as I like to call it, from my cut rod, getting up into my implant. My Dr. had to cut out the rod that was origninally placed by my first Dr. in OH during my CD and rod insert to prevent femoral head collapse (so instead it just cracked) - he had to cut it out in order to do the replacement - when he cut it out little flakes of metal embedded everywhere in my flesh. He spent over an hour cleaning it out during my surgery, but as I could clearly see on my 3 month xray it is all over my leg and hip area. He told me at that time he hoped gravity would pull the debris down and not up into my implant b/c I could have problems if it did not.

i have an appt. next fri. march 2. please pray for me. i have had so many problems at such a young age and have such young children to care for i don't know what i'm going to do it it is the metal b/c there is no fix for it.

any thoughts suggestions are welcome. and i'm going to tag Jo for her imput as well.

xoxoxo,
Linda.
@Josephine:

Linda,

So sorry to hear about your pain...and I can appreciate the stress can be as debilitating as the pain sometimes.

If you think of the metal as schrapnel, is it conceivable that a surgeon (trauma type, Emergency room type) could be as good or better to go in and get it over a Hip OS? I bet Hip folks have to deal with such situations less than other type of surgeons...just my bone headed thought...

Good luck,

Z

Thanks Z that is a thought - but also I wonder if a regular person - one w/out an implant, would b bothered by schrapnel w/ just regular bone structure? but not bone headed at all - if that is the problem I will ask my OS next week!
xoxo,
Linda

Sorry to hear about that Linda. Why can't it all be so much easier? I sure hope it's something else and not the metal that is floating around. I know you want to get back to some sort of a normal life and enjoy doing the things you want to with your boys. Please make sure to let us know how the appointment goes.
