TKR Leg Bruising<<

For the same reasons you cite, I had bilateral TKR, it is a shame your surgeon wouldn't do both, so if I were you I would do it asap!

Doing bilaterals is not just hard work for the patient - it's hard work for the surgeon as well. In fact, doing just one is hard physical work. Some surgeons may feel that they cannot give of their best if they do a bilateral and that's why they choose not to do them.

December 13, for left TKA.

Best wishes for your second TKR. Plan to have a quiet Christmas.

Well unless something happens I will be alone quietly.

I'm sorry about the loss of your mom. There is always someone here so think of us as your extended family.

Someon will be here, so just pop on when you want. Little bit more than month away...

Yes I am going to work hard to get my RTKA ready to take the lead for LTKA December 13, 2016. Please put me on the December list.

Please put me on the December list.
@loennie, if you post your surgery and its date in the December Supernovas thread in the Knee replacement Pre-Op area, bottomshollow will add you to the list.

Well December 13th is rapidly approaching and I found myself trying to talk myself out of surgery for the left knee. Then I remembered that my kneecap in that knee has been dislocating during therapy for my right knee. Very low on cash but committed to getting it fixed.

I am going on a six hour drive tomorrow. Should I take my ice packets with me? Any suggestions?

YES! Take ice and plan ahead to shop and take a few little walks. You may find it better to sit in the back seat with your leg propped up. Six hours is a long time for your TKR to be in that down position.

I know. It has been 6 weeks.

You will do fine. I had my second done at 6 weeks. Be prepared for some setback in your first knee as it takes up some of the duties of the newly operated knee. At least that's what happened to me.

Just when I think I just need to shut up and go back to work... my left knee reminds me that that is a really bad idea.

Yes, too early to go back. Do you have an expected return date?
