@Legin Hope you get the spots sorted out soon. The only time I had a CT scan I had a big reaction to the dye they inject - spots everywhere and boy, did they itch! You have my sympathy. You are surely due for a mega dose of good fortune soon :good-bad:

Its the way the dive rolls pal. Spots still there and a v itchy night. Had a brilliant session at work. At start chap was in bed his wife went in and he asks is the boy here yet, (that's what he calls me chortle). Had him singing along all thru personal care.

Sounds like your job is going really well. I'm very pleased for you and I am sure you are really improving your "chap's " quality of life.
Hope the itching resolves soon. I had to get some anti itch pills from the GP in the end.

A straight jacket works for me. It is calming down thanks. Yup the job is going well the chaps daughter who is the manager in effect of us has agreed that the care plan needs to be redone, she wants me to do a draft so we can present it to social work.

Oh you are lucky being called a "boy". i get the opposite in my mothers nursing home sometimes she thinks I am her mother and at times other relatives or other residents think I am my mothers sister. She is 89! I have got music from the Edinburgh Festival on in the background, all these young people jumping about the stage, head banging - what energy - Oh to be young!

Chortle aye I know. Just to think only six years ago I was playing squash and running around.
Anyway things are going really well, I'm sure this recent wee spell of sun has lifted the spirits, even finding new blisters hasn't dampened the spirits.

Hope your good fortune has continued. You really are remarkable and deserve some good luck and happiness.

Ty all. Life goes on. I'm amazed at how the chap I help has more periods of remembering more present day things. He recognises this strange chap who wakes him, and helps him. He also whupped me at dominoes.

Oh me, I seem to have hit a energy drain v v tired.but hey after tonight three days off. Whoot whoot.

Legin THR Sep 14

Hi @Legin Give in to the energy drain and think of the blessing you are to the man and his wife! In my experience dementia does get better or worse dependent on the quality of life around the person and you are contributing to that man's quality of life! Look after yourself in your 3 days off.

@Legin Going through the energy drain and one month slump myself at the moment. Unpleasant and virtually nothing we can do baring go with it and wait for the other side. Good luck on getting through it.

Day offff whoot and a grand day for doing the washing beds already stripped. Blisters really aren't playing the game two new ones, tut. Be interesting to see if in these three days off and no nearly 2 mile hike makes a diff.

Crossing fingers, toes, eyes and nose that three days of rest bring you some relief from those (not so) blessed blisters. I'm also glad that you've found a way to make a real difference in the life of your "chap" and his wife. I've spent a fair amount of time with people who have Alzheimers and other forms of dementia, and their harried, stressed and overwhelmed family. Having someone come by, even for a few hours, can be a real life-saver for all concerned. I'm glad you're able to make a difference in their lives, and them in yours.

Oh ty. It really is amazing to see the differance in the house. I spoke with the good lady of the house, she was saying her hubby is so much more relaxed, I put it to her so was she and that made a differance. The other night when I was there he got up and locked the door, closed curtains and put the blanket on. His wife told me that used to be his nightly task but he hasn't done it for a while. As I have stated before his care plan was he has dementia therefore nearly everything is done for him. Tut yes supervision is needed but he can do many things.

@Legin three day off and you start out by stripping all the beds! What if you practised walking on your hands, feet in air? Would that make a difference to the BB's (blessed blisters)? All that walking is so very good for your soul, not to mention the cardio benefits, but as you already know, not for your pre-op hip nor the BBs. Wonder if your client's care plan could involve an occasional ride for the caregiver??
So, hope the bedding dried all crisp and fresh on the clothesline for you! :)

Quiet day, ish spent time on Spanish tutor thingamabob, no new blisters and its nice in this v little activity state to go dressing less, oooooer. Today 9 to feed, pondering on menu. Could be curries a chicken Dahl and root vegetable korma with Bombay potatoes and homemade garlic nanns. I say this as yesterday the nerve pain was bad. Seems little activity nerve pain more activity blisters

What an odd/interesting correlation! I wonder if the blisters are anything like at the end of the nerve that's making pain? Sort of how I remember shingles works, maybe?
So you're learning Spanish, so you should cook paella!! Question-- do Europeans learn what I think of as Castilian Spanish? Here we would learn South American type, so I suppose if we went to Spain perfectly bilingual, as American hispanics (who I know, anyway) tend to be, the Spaniards would still know we were American

Aye traditional Spanish. Really not sure how all correlation works tho a four hour shopping trip and work yesterday the foot was v vocal and telling me it was hurting. No new blisters for three days ish.

Legin THR Sep 14

No blisters for 3 days, progress, small as it might be.
Your Spanish will be fine where ever you go in the Hispanic world. We never know where our travels will take us.
