@levin antibx make me tired-- that might be part of your fatigue? Keep eating yogurt, too! Don't like blisters, and sorry mirror having a step back, but it is probably one of those two steps forward, one back things and you will be back on track soon. :)

For healing can ya get hyperbaric treatments? My friend had hip and other issues and he got it. Did world difference in healing. ❌❌❌ good luck will be praying for you!!!

Hi @Angel1978 I had not heard of hyperbaric treatment before - just looked it up on the internet. @Legin Wouldn't it be wonderful if this were the answer to your healing and pain issues? Doubt it is available in UK NHS??

Check out the scuba diving centres, MS treatment centres and the British Hyperbaric Association (if it still exists). Some are linked to the NHS but a lot of them offer routes to get Hyperbaric treatment. How do I know you ask? A number of my work colleagues are avid divers and they've talked about having to use them over a cuppa, small world!

Hello all, thanks Angel will look into it. Re blisters they are on the shin on site of trauma.
Went to physio today told her I felt I was going backwards re the lack of mirror therapy, the blisters, the flare up of pain in silly foot and other hip. We dissected what I was doing as daily activity and made me realise that four or six weeks ago I couldn't do this level of activity under this level of pain. She actually said I was doing amazingly well considering and I had taken major steps forward. Silly me went misty. So we agreed that mirror was to be put away till blister situation was sorted as the dressings affected my ability to fool thee brain into thinking two good legs. She suggested that for long walk home I use a stick. I said I felt that would be a massive step backwards. So up I stood and walked between facing mirrors so I could see gait then I did same with cane, big DOH moment. Yup the name is Humpty Nigel and I don't use the wee brain I have enough. So a brilliant enlightening, tho emotional session.

Oh my @Legin you have a brilliant physio-- you and she must be on a good wavelength together. I'm glad she bragged on you, I'll bet you needed that :)
Here in US, hyperbaric chambers can be found in the clinics of some pediatricians who treat autism-- my son's old dr got one just as we were sort of aging out of pediatrics. She said the parents go in with the kids and read stories (today it would be hand the iPad over to the kid!). You may have connections who know of such near you. My uncle used to do it for some eye condition he had, also.

Busy day today work 7.30-9.30 then walk home 12 off to Perth for CAB assessments to see if I'm up to speed. Back home then work at 7pm to 8pm dem bones and muscles will be tested for sure.

Oh @Legin - thought the days of "split shifts" as we used to call them were long gone! Take care of those blisters and dem bones and muscles.

Chortle, well dem bones came thru including all that tried to derail me. CAB passed got phone call from the leader and I passed too well.........
OK recovery note.
As stated my all seeing Physio had suggested I use stick for longer walks. I did and clocked up all in all over three miles. Result was 40%reduced pain. As gait was vastly improved my old hip wasn't yodeling just a wee murmur. Fatigued, very but from exertion not pain. So too all having to revert to a walking aid isn't a step back but a method to improve and very much reduce pain.

Well done with the stick, @Legin Totally agree on the sticks - I use walking poles if going any distance or over any rough ground and they really help with balance and overall stability. Sounds as if you are at last making good progress and a reduction in pain. Bravo!

Good to seee you snaperooo. Yup its more a balance move in a way that reduces pain but maintains good gait, then accepting the pain is there and try to put it in a box. One major plus in this is that there is a kaleidescope around us with amazing life. A major part of my strategy is to literally look what's in front of my nose and about me that we all walk past without a thought. See being male I'm easily distracted...

Hi @Legin, When you did "dem bones" post , in replying I found a lovely emoticon of a skeleton walking jauntily with a stick fortunately it was a .jpg picture so would not post. In retrospect it might have been offensive so glad it did not post! You are certainly on the up roller coaster wise. long may it continue!

Dem bones are tired bones. Thanks coppers I feel guilty as I'm feeling good and you have the iffy end of the stick. I'm rooting all the way for you lass.

@Legin Have you ever thought of taking up photography? It certainly gives you a different view of the world around you and a small pocket camera would make a good companion. I take my camera everywhere and using it has made me appreciate all the beauty around and I've made some good friends through my hobby too. And now you are looking around while you walk with your sticks you have the opportunity.

@copsham I saw it on my iPhone, tiny but there. It was cute!
@Legin that's a whopping improvement in pain reduction! I am so happy over that!!
I'll bet you sure did pass the CAB thing too well-- they want you to come teach their new recruits now, am I close?
I have a friend who goes to a low cost clinic fir health care. Recently, her primary dr there told her she needed to go see the clinic's therapist, as she was clearly in denial about the depression he decided she must be feeling as a result of her multiple health issues. Well, she's about as depressed as, oh, Santa Claus, but she knew she must make the appointment. By the end of her session, the therapist had begged my friend (who is, just by the way, a clinical psychologist whose career was as a therapist....to consider volunteering at this clinic as another therapist!

Quick update saw Dr again re blisters he now agrees it isn't infection, I have said all along its linked to #CRPS he want me to see a skin chappy, or chapette. Also last big antibiotics have left me with a torso covered in v itchy spots, a reaction to them. Shhhheeeeeesh what next bring on nurse Ratchet ooooo matron

Legin THR Sep 14

Yikes @Legin I had that rash-all-over reaction to Biaxin, and they took me off it immediately! Allergic reactions can be scary...
Hope your skin doctor or doctoress can get to the bottom of this! It's a relief to know you don't have to take any more antibiotics!
Would you care to visit upstate New York once a week to cook freezer meals and do a little vacuuming for my mom?? We'll beam you there like Scotty does...
