Left hip needs done, have to settle CRPS first

Hi @Legin
It sounds like you are walking on a tight rope. Wow what a choice :
Your scenario is:
Little activity = nerve pain (ouch)
More activity = blisters (ouch)

My scenario, much less severe, is:
Little activity = gloomy, fed up and seized up
More activity = happier, very foot sore and swollen

Where is the magic remedy - ask one cell Harold?

As a teen and early twenties I travelled all over Europe. Be good to do that again. I was known as toothbrush in that I took off with a toothbrush in back pocket

Hello @Legin
I just wanted to stop by and tell you that I am enjoying your posts and think you are a very strong man...
You are indeed walking a fine line, yet you take time to give others a boost and have kept a nice sense of humor.
I will continue to follow your journey.. :thumb: and send some healing thoughts your way.

@Legin very happy to hear re no new blisters for days! Leaves the old ones free to heal up, I hope!
Work plus four hours shopping, that's a full agenda! Your foot spoke to you in Spanish, no doubt... You need to teach it some Québecois cuss words, though, they are very satisfying to roll out!
@copsham that portrait of Harold is quite a good likeness! ;)

The days were different then! My travels round Europe, aged 19 yrs old were hitch hiking with an other girl for 3 months, slept in youth hostels, on the beach, etc. No trouble be fell us and we were at an age when we felt we could do anything. We were so invincible and i felt invincible right up until i had my hip done. I feel like I am the old lady in a rocking chair, by the fire, reminiscing about the good old days. Oh dear!

Chortke, I'm.sure Harold is in a much more cavernous place. Oh Zaubs now no leading me astray I haven't sworn since I was 14, even when I snapped achilies at work the kids laughed at me shouting beeeeeeeezer.
@CricketHip ty that's grand of you to say so, but me I'm just me.
OK real problem this morning I couldn't get my shoe on as foot had decided to pay me back for the weekend. So had to wear flipflop to work. The gent just laughed and laughed at me. Walk back was iffy as silly flipflop kept flopping off my foot. In stupermarket many of the staff came up to me and made silly comments tut. I used to work there hence the comments. One time I was buying some alchyfrol, wine, for the wifffff see I have driven the poooor women to drink. Oh yes I digress, so I was at the till when the member of staff asked me for ID to prove I was over 25, well the look on the next shoppers face was pricelesss. Just goes to show a good laugh is always around the corner hey.

Oh coppers be no time at all when you will be off on some adventure. I was same asnyou in teens and I'm v v sure I'm not ready for rocking chair, time for that Status Quo song rocking all over the world

Oh @Legin we have something in common - I cannot get my shoe on my swollen foot either! At least I have my aircast boot to put on it. I looked at my flip flops today and thought "no don't go there"

Time for bigger shoe  I got carded at 27, drinking age 21 at the time. Three years after that they started calling me "ma'am" in the grocery store. Sigh...
My grand 19 yr old adventure was running away to Montreal, which was the big city to a New England village girl. Wound up going to school there!

@Angel1978 I'm doing fine really. The other day foot was really hurting but, right now Numpty I said to myself, do your own advice. So I did what I really rarely do I looked back. It was only weeks ago my foot hurt to megga ow level. Now I made a fuss about one day...... I have 5 days now blister free...... I used to stop every 50m or so on walks esp walk home from work, now well in about 3000m I stopped about 4 times..... Hmmmmm do I still have silly CRPS, undoubtedly yes but I'm managing it soo much better. With walking and yes using the massively unwanted stick my walk is more natural which moves the foot in a normal way. One of the big problems with this condition is that with pain we don't do a normal movement and so ilthe muscles waste and normal movement is further impinged. This was a biggy for me as with nerve damage some of my muscles will not work by themselves. So much improved movement, hence also less stops on walks. Pain medication, I have reduced tramadol to just when going to bed and first thing in the morning. A few months ago I was on two tabs every four hours. I'm still on the max dose Pregabalin 3000 in am and 3000 at night but at next PT app I want to raise this and look at reducing, this in light tho i still have zapps all day long but have they reduced in severity or am I getting better at pushing them into a box and just getting on, hmmmmm juries out on that one. Nortriptyline medication for sleep, hmmmmm for the past decade or so sleep and I have not been good friends, and now even with the medication I wake during the night and I have my Homer moment ie wake, think don't think don't think, arrgh I thunked DOH.
Hmmmm will speak to pain consultant who diagnosed this re poss dropping the dose.
So Angel in short I'm pretty good, nae I'm excellent ty.

Great to hear that things are really improving now for you. Long may it continue and the improvement in walking sounds really good.

Hello Legin

That's fabulous news about your walking. You are doing so well. I'm very proud of you as is everyone else here. I found that interesting about what you said about muscle development being affected by CRPS. I'll probably chat to you later on that one.

Take care, so pleased that you're doing well

Awwww tanks lass. Its same for many of these movement disabilities we adapt wrong ways of moving to lessen the pain. I call it my Charlie Chaplin walk

Hi @Legin it was good to read your overview. I think we all drip feed bits of information when we post and I certainly loose track of the bigger picture. What a lot of ups and downs you have had. Thank goodness for the pain management team, bonesmart and most of all you!

I know how lucky I am the minute I walked into the Pain Management Surgery I knew at last people who knew what I was going thru and I have had my smartie friends always there for me. I don't mind admitting that I was in a dark place for me. But I do feel iam moving forward wether this CRPS goes or stays it can only get better and I'm saying that to the other hip so as we say here wheeeeeeeesht hip your turn will come when I am ready

It was easy I made a megga Lasagna and a wee vegie one. Yup I didn't realise how many strides I had taken forward. Its like my dizzy thing I went from walking down a corridor like a demented bobsleigh to walking and just grounding myself by brushing fingers off the wall. It was Dr who pointed it out. That would be the Dr who after my brain scan announced contrary to popular opinion you do have a brain....................
