Thanks Rich!!! I hope you are recovering from your little escapade and that you can get back out there again soon :)
xoxo,
Linda.

I always manage to make it through pretty much anything, but you nailed it Linda, it was definitely an escapade indeed, i hope your mothers day is as special as you.

Hi Rich, sorry to hear you have been having a few ups and downs over the past few days but you are a tough cookie and will get through it, just remember how you felt straight after your op, that was bad but you came through and quite quickly too.

I'm driving now, just a little bit, short drives but I find it uncomfortable sitting and I'm shuffling frequently trying to find a comfy position, it will get better though and I am lucky to have an automatic. I would never be able to manage a clutch at this stage in my recovery. Don't fret about it Rich, the car will still be there in a few weeks time when your body is ready.

Take care and stay strong

Ann

Thanks so much Annie for the kind words, i guess my rush to drive again is to regain my independence, i hate sitting in this house without the option of being able to up and leave if i should chose and it stinks because i have to depend on others to take me places which of course ends up being my wife who has been so good to me i am forever in her debt, my wife has been by my side right from the start and i dont know where i'd be without her,

From April10th which is my surgery date up to the present my wife has literally been by my side every step of the way, especially taking me to my appts and anywhere else i have needed to go and NEVER ONCE complained, i'm an extremely lucky guy, i dont need much because my wife has made it her duty to take such good care of me,i know when i get can get to the point where i can take care of myself i'm going to miss her spoiling me life is good and i have my wife to thank and my determination in getting better so i can drive my car again and regain my independence.......yiiipppeee...!!

In sickness and health comes to mind Rich :)

Marriage - in sickness and in health :)

Lisa is your soul mate... Keep flooding her with presents :)

I always make sure she knows she's appreciated, I make that certain, because I think the minute you stop spoiling or at least making your wife feel special, your life will be miserable and pretty much over because after all she's done for me I had better not any time soon forget how special she truly is, regardless if she knows she's special in my eyes that's not the point, what matters most is how she feels when I'm not around, but you have to be careful because you can't give her to much all the time because she'll grow to expect it and it will no longer be a surprise, now I might be wrong for thinking this way but think about it, if you give her to much she will expect it and how then can you possibly catch her off guard with gifts, although I'm pretty good at stuff like this, time will tell of course.

You are doing great Rich..

I also noticed that you are looking and posting on other members threads... that is so helpful and is great for you too... keep it up buddy..

:)

You have a lot to offer others on BoneSmart, Rich. I hope you continue to post for others for a long time!

I have been told most of my life, I have alot to offer others, i have always known this I guess we all need to hear it at timesi mean after all we all have a purpose in this world but a far as me having alot to offer I Ave every intention in sharing thought and feelings here on bonesmart for the distant future.

Rich ....

"I take you to be my lawful wedded (husband/wife),
to have and to hold,
from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
until death do us part."

:wink1:

Vows of marriage are beautiful they say it all, I think they cover it all, I've always loved them, we had different vows at our wedding, they meant the same thing.!!!.

Today has not been a good day, I'm disgusted, I'm sick and tired of sleeping on my back, I have had enough , i'm a side sleeper, I'm barely getting any sleep and to think I'm having my other hip done in January is even more discouraging, because I will be dealing with this all over again and quite frankly I don't know if I have it in me ,I realize it is what it is but I'm burnt out having gone through this process, I don't want to contradict myself but I'm a pretty strong guy and I can handle pretty much anything but I can only take so much , how long do I have to sleep on my back...?

Rich, what did your doctor tell you about sleeping on your back or side? If you're under restricitons, they would normally be 6 weeks.

The only restriction I'm on is i cant drive until I see him on June 11the told me I can't sleep on my side he didn't give me any length of time..this is such a joke.

Sorry, Rich.....I can't understand your last post Who told you not to sleep on your side then?

Well, then....if your surgeon told you at your last appointment not to sleep on your side yet, then that actually is a restriction he has placed on you.

Since you have another appointment with him on June 11th, that makes 8 weeks if you wait until you see him again to try sleeping on your side. Why don't you give his office a call and see if you could give it a try now. You are 5 weeks out.
