Today i went for my post op follow up to have my staples removed and all went well i guess , i spoke with my surgeon about having my left hip done and he didnt say no but he did say at this dtage of the game you need to be fully mobile with your right hip and no limitations to be co nsidered for surgery because it makes no sense to do your left hip if you're syill having mobilit issues wiyh your right one, i had to agree with him, he made perfect sensr even thugh i didnt want to hear it, to seriously talk about having the left one done it needs to be at least 6 months so you can depend on your right hip to carry the wieght for your left, again he was absolutely correct, ifelt he was being totally straight up honest with me and you cant ask for any more then that right..?
I then spoke to him about sleeping on my side and he said a resounding NO, i hink sleeping on your side right now mr cooper is danderous because you run the risk of dislocation, and when you're sleeping you dont know what you're doing and if you dislocate that hip it will not be good.
So i approached another subject, i talked to him about driving and he said at least 6 weeks because its my driving leg otherwise if it was my left hip it would be sooner, i took it pretty goog considering i went in there with my mind made up of i would be driving ASAP or depending on how im feeling, oh well such is life, i hate knowing i can't drive for another 6 weeks but i know its for my own good and most importantly my own safety, thats of the utmost. I like someone who is honest and straight forward and you can't ask for any more then that, he was all of the above...i respect him for thgat i also gave him a nice thank you card, he sure did deserve it.
Last but not least i asked him if i could shower he said sure no problem i was pretty relieved because these sponge baths were getting old although the wife was giving me the sponge bath so they were not so bad afterall..lol...i go back to see my surgeon again June 11th.
