THR Here I go again!

I do have a question. My left knee is the worst pain, just above the knee aches and the knee it's self just down right hurts. I've been taking a few steps without the cane and that's when it "hurts". There is slight swelling with it also. Rest of the leg doesn't hurt at all. :umm:

@julesglass sorry, don't have any ideas other than keep icing. I'm having a weird machines in my ankle, not sure what's up with that as I haven't done anything with it and it just started the last couple days. I'm chalking it up to those weird aches, niggles, zaps and other fun stuff we have during recovery.
:loll:

Weird huh,@Elf1. Get one part fixed and feeling pretty good and something else starts crying for attention. I took it easy this afternoon and took Lucy out for another walk this evening, didn't make it to the end of the block. Blasted knee started in, by the time I got back inside the whole thing felt huge. It's bearly swollen. Well, I'm in bed now with ice on it though it doesn't look bad. :sigh:

Sounds like you might be overdoing it a bit, @julesglass Ease up on activity, rest and ice like mad! I'm betting it will get better, you are still in the early days. My knees aren't bothering me but--ouf--the four circuits of the park did kick my butt a bit! Aching upper left thigh; it may be a Tramadol night!

Hi @julesglass
Sorry you're hurting, sweetie. You know the knee is often manipulated rather aggressively during the dislocation process and a sore and swollen knee, while uncomfortable, can be fairly common.
I'd ice and elevate as often as you're able, in addition to taking your meds and see if it helps. Josephine always recommends icing for at least 40-60 minutes, no less, each time you ice. Target 4x daily while it's really bothering you and hopefully it eases soon.

Morning to you all. After the great responses I got about the knee problem I understand the swelling thing better. Even though not seen it's still there under the surface. I'm taking coffee in bed this morning and will do the walk later in the evening. I do have to get to my work place at some point today. My OS office didn't submit the Aflac papers earlier. So I'll call them for heads up on another fax coming to them to get this done. I should have had my first check by now however I'm not out of my "reserves" yet. I'm hoping my friend stops by so I can have him drive me since Deb's busy with her things today. Mower man was here yesterday and said he had noticed the new leaves rosie had were gone. He blasted those rascally rabbits with a chuckle. He commented about the baby boom of rabbits. Anyway rosie is protected and we both agreed if it was able to put new leaves out there is good roots for it to recover. Back when I was a child we had a wild rose bush in the back with lily of the valley and violets surrounding it. The pretty pink roses encircled with white and purple is a beautiful memory that I would love to have in my back yard. You all take it easy on yourself and don't forget the ice! :ice:

Your garden (yard) sounds wonderful. Lilies I think are my favourite flower and roses are so beautiful. Hope you get your cash sorted. I am not being paid but will start doing some work from home next week to help. I saved up some money before had to help. Enjoy your coffee in bed. That is what I do each morning with my pups by my side. Idyllic and very decadent :)

Oh, roses, lilies of the valley and violets--what a charming picture that conjures up, @julesglass. No wonder you think about that fondly. I hope by taking coffee in bed and relaxing this morning you'll feel more energized this afternoon for your walk and various chores. Have a good day!

Thanks BarbaraJ. My friend stopped by and said if he gets done what he has going on he'd drive me. If not I'll drive myself, no biggie I've been going down to convenient store here and there. I've made it to the back with my coffee, squirrels are messing with Lucy across the fence. Squirrels to like to play with dogs that are penned up, great entertainment for them not the dogs.

One of my favorite things about Spring, Summer and Fall is the beautiful flowers.
Love them along the landscape and in pots gracing porches and front steps everywhere. It's always such a rude awakening when gray November rolls in. No more color, blue skies, puffy white clouds. But....its months away and there's still plenty of time to enjoy the beauty, sights and sounds of late Summer, early Fall. I hope you get to where you need to go today, jules, and I hope your weekend is sweet!
Keep the old ice pack close  :ice:
@julesglass

I do enjoy this time of year all the way up to winter. Early winter good then goes sour by Jan. Going to get iced up before my trip out and again when I return. Enjoy your day Layla.

Morning to all. It's overcast this morning as I start another day. Yesterday was as good as it gets. Drive out to workplace which is 45 minutes to next town. Pleasant drive through the countryside. Corn looks good in the fields, figure 7' plus high. Got back aching abit, not bad. Waited till about 7 to walk with Lucy, that's when things started firing up. Ice up with a movie when there was a variety of loud noises in the kitchen. Got up as the cat walked out of the kitchen. As I sat down he came out of the bedroom carrying a mouse! When I went back to the kitchen I realized he had gotten it from under the frig. First one in the house "ever" in 17 yrs! I was rather surprised, didn't think mice were looking to get in this early. I let him have his trophy for some time before throwing the body over the fence. He's a hero now as he watches the frig and stove. :catbutterfly:Lucy got her excitement this morning. Neighbor cat was in her yard racing after it till it did the high jump over the 4' fence. Oh so proud of herself as she pranced into the house. I have a new project now, find where this invader got in... later, much later. Good kitty :kittymilk:

Good morning @julesglass I just caught up with your thread from yesterday, did you get to your work place ok?
Aren't our yards a bright spot for us? I want to walk outside in a bit and look at my flowers and the veggie plants, My husband keeps saying there are no new zucchini's but I'm guessing he just isn't seeing them, they hide so well.
I wanted to mention that my knee was very sore, too. Especially the one from 4 years ago.. that one had me nervous for a long time and then one day, totally forgotten.
Have a great weekend with kitty, Lucy and your ice!!

A good start to your weekend, @julesglass, and yesterday sounded like a good one, too. My grandparents used to live in Iowa and as a child I loved visiting them in the summer, the glorious fields of produce, particularly the corn fields--so impressive. I loved early mornings by the lake, when it was still relatively cool, and the folks next door to my grandparents had some sheep and my brothers and I would sneak up to the fence and watch them contentedly munching away. Everything smelled so fresh and green on those summer mornings. I have such fond memories. Have a great weekend!

Mice freak me out. Nasty little critters. Ugh. You're quite brave that you actually touched it, Jules.
I hope you had a nice Saturday and it wasn't too hot. Seems to be heating up again here after a short reprieve. Let's see what kind of excitement you can share with us tomorrow.
A great Sunday to you!
