THR Here I go again!

Good evening everyone. It was a hum drum day. Just couldn't get motivated to do much. I did get the stakes set around rosie and cut the chicken wire. That was it, still gotta get it secured with wire ties. Other than walking Lucy in the yard that is all I accomplished. Tomorrow is a new day and if I can get to sleep soon I know it will be a better morning. Just can't get to sleep lately and my afternoon nap is almost nothing. Just doing the light sleep not asleep thing. :alarm: I did take a few steps without the cane, not there yet. I tried to turn on left foot, not a good move. I was able to get through the day on one pain pill in the morning and then one in late afternoon with some Tylenol, I count that as a big step. Well here I go... good night. :sleeep:

Good luck sleeping. My sleep isn’t great either i keep waking drenched in sweat. Turning on op leg is definitely a no no i am grateful that my hip reminds me of movements not to make. Great news on the pain pills!

Morning to you all. I was able to finally get 6hrs of sleep with one potty run. Woke up to more than usual pain on the outside of my thigh. Felt like someone had smacked it while I slept. Anyway I've got my first coffee in bed with radio in the background. I'll finish this one then to the shower to start the day! I keep finding myself laying my right ankle across the left one. I was told not to cross my ankles however the right one just keeps hugging the left. I did get through yesterday without the walker even to bed. I'm going to continue only with the cane. I'm going to walk Lucy to the end of the next block, I live on a corner. Still got those stupid dishes to do. I've been rinsing out my coffee cup and drinking glass. Deb's been only coming over in the evening now to watch Grace and Frankie on Netflix. Jane Fonda and Lilly Tomlin play off each other so good! Every one have a good day with smiles on our faces. Makes people wonder what secert we know and they don't! Oh, a neighbor across the street has a pile of stuff for city to pick up and a group of young boys about 10 I figure the oldest. Anyway of course they were digging around for "treasures" when they came across a pane of glass. Of course I'm in my backyard with an apple tree hiding me from their view as they processed to set the glass up and one takes a swing and breaks it. I gave out my loud mama "HEY!" they stopped and looked, not seeing me then the boy took another swing breaking it more. Then it was "CUT THAT OUT!" That was when they really looked around and a little guy saw me. They got back on their bikes and left. Back in the day I could go outside and call my boys in for supper when they were a good 3blks away. I had that smile on that makes others wonder what you know. :snork:

The voice from the tree :heehee: Enough to scare the little devils senseless :rofsign:

it is funny, while I am sitting, my left ankle hankers to cross my right too.Whats that all about...Great stuff being without the walker. Those achievements demonstrate how we are healing without realising it. Sorry about the outer thigh pain. It is probably your muscles waking up from their slumber?

Enjoy your walk with Lucy dog today! I bet she will love being out with her mum again :loveshwr:

Thanks @Fiona444. Lucy was disappointed when I turned to just walk the yard. I'll get a much better "reading" when we go down the street. They were boys being boys, they live on block over and always seem to respect adults which is hard to find in some youth these days. Weather continues to be pleasant as I take my coffee outside. :loveshwr:

Great posts, @julesglass I will carry my "mona lisa smile" around for the day from them! I had the drenching sweats for weeks. Then they subsided to moderate, without the need to changes jammies, and now it's just a little annoyance.

Have to agree with you and @Fiona444 about that ankle wanting to curl up with the other. If course the nurse at the surgeons office was telling me to slide my left foot behind my right ankle to help lift the right leg up so I keep wondering. The nurses at the hospital we're putting them together and using one hand to move my legs though the PT said keep them 5 inches apart.

Sleep is still an iffy thing, but I didn't exactly sleep well before so guess I can't expect miracles. I think I'm also feeling guilty if I think I sleep too much. I knew, silly.

Glad you've been getting out and moving around. Too dang hot here so my getting out is trips to the grocery and such. Still using the walker for the most part, have been using the cane more in the house though PT wanted me to work with her on the switch. Sorry, have to get some practice in!
:old:

Good evening my hippie friends. Another day comes to a close peacefully as the sun does going down. Lucy and I went and walked down to the next block and back this morning. It went great (still no cat test) half way back I stopped to take a small break and Lucy sat down. :heehee: It's been three years since we've walk she's out of shape too! This is going to be fun, dog and owner out of shape! :rotfl: I've been thinking about here I am in my life. I actually am good inside and out, I can say I like who I am and where I am at this point in my life. Sure I'm alone, with out my Keith however I'm good to go. I like myself, something that I've not been able to say before. I'm going to cut loose.... as soon as my body allows me to. Do something crazy next year since I've still gotta get healed up. :happyfeet: It's all good even when it's not!!! Love that penguin!

@julesglass My OS said I could cross my ankles. I did still wait a few weeks tho. He had no restrictions and I was a little nervous about that...I cross them all the time now.

Woo, hoo--what a great posting, @julesglass. Realizing that you're happy with yourself, inside and out, that is such a gift, to be accepting and not just that, but happy with who you are. I hope when you had that realization it brought a confident smile to your face--you've got this, babe! Like you, I think I'm going to cut loose a bit in 2020 with two fully functioning hips. Okay, my cutting loose may be a bit tame (thinking a trip with my hubby maybe) but I can well imagine you closing your eyes, and mentally surveying a ton of happy options. Hurray for you! Have a great Thursday.

There you are @Barbaraj! Ohhh I've got the grin on that makes people wonder what I know!! We've got this in the bag don't we! :eyebrows: I'm thinking horseback riding, boat ride with friends, fishing and going to training camp at the Arrowhead stadium next year. I've always wanted to repel off a cliff, not climb up just repel down. I want to ride a hot air balloon. Get up above all the noise to that silent breeze and touch the clouds. The sky is our goal no matter what we do, right?!

Yup, @julesglass, the sky's the limit for all recovered hipsters. Okay, maybe some practical realities may raise their ugly heads but it sounds like you've got a lot of fun and happy options to consider, and what fun you'll have counting them all off in your head as you prepare for 2020--full steam ahead now!

Wow! I hope all your dreams come true.
Recovery sure gets us thinking of all the things we are missing and want to do. You're on your way!
