THR Here I go again!

Getting ready for Mom, I decided to give the cane a try after meds were taken. It worked out, I can go to appointment without walker :yes!:. I still used walker to get in and out of shower, just cause. I now know I'll be able to get in and out of Mom's car and get out to my favorite spot in the yard! :happydance: Weather is still reasonable so here I go!! Oh, new script came in today also, I am relieved. :egypdance:

Sorry to hear @julesglass I have a pain management doctor that has been giving me injections for 2 years in the hips and back he controls my medication...my appointments have been made on a monthly basis. OS sent me home with tramadol and zanaflex NSAIDS Tylenol, hospital has a pharmacy and they gave me all my medications before I was released on both surgeries

It is crazy what we have to do so we can recover. @julesglass so glad your prescription came and cudos on the cane, feels so good doesn't it! I'm kind of like you with my PCP, he is so against pain meds that it's not even funny! Oh and on top of that he's retiring as of 9 August so we're having to start over again!

Thanks @Elf1. I was stoaked to take my cane until..... 45 min into ride, pit stop and I could barely walk in to use restroom. I had to use both hands on the cane to walk, sharp pain down to knee. On the way home now. Dad did drive Mom and I, nice surprise. He walked the walkway at clinic while I got xray and talk to surgeon. Back in five weeks because fourth week is booked solid. Be home soon then feet up and stay put. Doc said "everything is right where I left it".

:ok:

@julesglass
I love what your doc said.
"Everything is right where I left it":heehee:
Thank goodness!!! He sounds like a great OS with a sense of humor...
Glad you are now home resting. ♥️
Sounds like your dad is doing pretty well too....

Hope you had a restful overnight @julesglass
Wishing you a wonderful weekend. It sounds like you have great help in your SIL, Deb.
Not sure about your weather, but I'm in parts North and we're going to have another hot steamy weekend and then drier more seasonable temps starting Monday. I hope your weekend is all you want it to be. Enjoy!

That is disappointing to read that, despite your hopes, the cane didn't entirely work out as planned, @julesglass . It's just that ole "two steps forward, one step back" zig zagging path we're all following. Do rest with your feet up, and give yourself a break. You're gonna get to the end of the trail, but it's not easy or fast, is it? Hang in there!

Got outside and carried my foldable lawn chair out to my tree this morning. Enjoyed my coffee with a nice breeze. Carried two gals of water out to the bird bath and my poor rose bush starter. Juvenile rabbits are running wild and keep eating the leaves off. I've been asking around for some chicken wire to protect my rose. It's back to just a stem however I'm convinced there is good roots in there. Naptime is here then work on the dishes, little at a time. Take care.

Morning to all my hippie friends. Didn't get to sleep till about midnight, I blame it on the diet pepsi I had while watching mind hunters. Woke up 4am didn't need pill, felt okay and I decided it was time to sleep on my good side. I did and woke up 7:15 a little achy, not bad. I've got my coffee in bed enjoying the radio waiting for pill to kick in. I'm planning on a shower and regular clothes and out to the yard soon! Life is so good as I enjoy the "little" things that mean so much. My home, family, friends and top of list Lucy. I got her on the first anniversary of my Keith's death 5yrs ago. She is the best thing in my life and such a great dog. I wish everyone comfort and love this weekend as we move forward to a better life.

Whoa, wild child:eyebrows:
:giggle:
Isn't it it lovely to be shed of that hip pain.
I see you coming around the mountain very soon and things will just keep getting better!
Wishing you a good weekend:flwrysmile:

This morning’s post really gave me a feeling of peace and quiet happiness - and maybe a hint to remember for my own recovery: that it is very possible to enjoy the “little” things along the way while I wait for time to do its magic. Progress can’t be rushed, it seems, but happiness doesn’t have to wait for the finish line, if you know where to look for it. Best to you, @julesglass !
