I own a baking business to which I hope to return as quickly as possible. I know that everyone is different in their recovery, but I have to keep the faith that what I need for my hip will be something that I can get back to doing with support. I know I have to get out of this pain and back to what I want to do! I am worried.

Hello, mastercookie, and Welcome to BoneSmart! Thank you for joining us in support as an Insider. We're happy you're here!

The pain of a deteriorating hip is limiting and can be exhausting. I am so sorry you're at this stage. Do you have a scheduled date for a hip replacement yet? If so, please share the date and we will create a signature for you.

I know you're worried now, having a business you will need to get back to. This surgery will not take away the ability to return to the business you love. We understand your fears and anxiety. Hopefully you have your surgery scheduled and if so, try to take it one day at a time. A new hip will give you back comfort, strength and the freedom to move about with ease, over struggling with pain. We'll be here through every stage from pre-op through recovery, for as long as you'll have us. We've been there and will have tips and advice to share, along with support, encouragement and virtual hugs! :friends: Let us know if you have any specific questions or fears and we may be able to help alleviate some anxiety. I will leave our pre-op reading for you below and look forward to supporting you on your THR journey.

What is your thoughts now on a timeline to return to work? If you do some reading on past members posts you'll find a trend of returning to work prolonging their recovery and causing undue pain. While it's become a common procedure with fairy tale recovery stories it is a major invasive surgery that requires rest to heal from. Not wanting to say this as most of us are in the same section of the boat but we're not kids any more. My body heals slower now than when I had my 2 THR's.
