Hi Jermert,
I'll bet it felt good to get the staples out. I love that you gave the PA a "heads up" on your expectations and she agreed to not forcing your knee. It's also refreshing that rather than hear you're not doing enough, she acknowledged that you may have over done it a bit. Nothing some icing / elevation and rest can't handle.

Sorry this knee feels like more of a challenge for you. Thankfully it's not your first rodeo and it will be easier for you to find the perfect balance between rest and activity. I have faith you'll do this right and be feeling great by the holidays and even better in the new year. Thanks for the update! :)
@Jermert

it will be a bit tougher to bring around, but I’ll do it.
You sure will and we will support you.
Unfortunately we can’t rush the process, even if we wish we could.
I’m doing well 12 w on after a revision but still the knee is in control. I find this chart helpful in terms of timings and how long it takes to heal. It’s only a guide as our bodies do vary.
Please keep us posted as it’s so helpful for other members and guests to read. Thank you.

Remember we all heal at our pace. I know you know that, but sometimes its good to be reminded this isn't a sprint. I personally heal slowly, very slowly so I know it will always take me longer to recover. There are others whom are the opposite and heal much faster. Alas, your body is in control and your just along for the ride.

I'm right there with you! We all need to exercise our patience muscle!

Day 29 post op, recovery on this knee (lefty) appears to be going much faster than righty did. I came down with another medical ailment during the third week of recovery which forced me to spend about 5 days in bed. During this time I got a lot of sleep and I really believe this helped with the healing. I am walking with a cane which I am using to maintain distance from others in grounds. My stamina is not great yet but improving. Have a great weekend.

@Jermert
I‘ve moved your post above out of the Monthly team thread as we reserve that thread for surgery date information, and so members can see who else has surgery the same month.

We prefer that you keep all your updates in your recovery thread. This benefits you because all your information is in one place, easy to find, and maintains a nice journal for you.

This also benefits our staff, as your information is all in one place, and we often go back through your thread for previous details, so we know what you‘ve been through which helps us advise you better.

So, please keep all your posts in this thread. If you’d like a new title, let us know what you want, and we’ll change it for you.

Many members bookmark their thread in their computer browser, so they can find it when they log on.
How can I find my threads and posts?

Best wishes on your continuing recovery! :flwrysmile:

Hi Jermert,
Great news that this recovery is seemingly better than your first. I am sorry you were sidelined for a few days by an additional challenge, but it sounds as though the five days of heavy rest was just what the doctor ordered.
It is a fact that sleep shifts our body into repair mode. Energy is redirected because we're not moving around. Our body is continuously in a state of repair, but sleep makes for a favorable environment for the healing process.
As you know, it's not even one month since major surgery, so your stamina will slowly increase.
Much brighter days are ahead! :SUNsmile:
Happy Sunday!
@Jermert

Glad to hear you are doing well and the spell of rest/ extra sleep seems to have helped.

Good Morning Jermert,
Reaching out to wish you a Happy One Month Anniversary! I remember after surgery, the first goal I wanted to reach was one "week" post op....after that it was one "month" post op. Lofty goals, huh? :heehee: :wink:
Hopefully you're healing well, taking things one day at a time. Every little bit of progress counts.
Cheering you on and wishing you continued strength and healing in the weeks to come.
Have a nice weekend!
@Jermert

Thanks for the well wishes. I intended to post this am. PT yesterday 3 degrees extension, 101 degrees flexion. Incision is healing nicely, swelling is minimal, pain is almost gone. I’m doing very well. I have a goal to return to work mid November. Wish me luck.

What great news! You're doing so well!
Here's a four leaf clover for your pocket for Good Luck!
Don't you do anything to mess this up now...ya hear? :wink:

What a great update, @Jermert! You are doing really well for just one-month from surgery. As Layla said, be careful not to overdo and you will be back to work in November.

What a wonderful update. I think your knee got in that extra healing during those 5 downdays! That just goes to show you that less is more during the early days after this surgery.

Happy Five Month Anniversary, Lefty!
I hope you have a great week! :)
@Jermert

Thanks so much Layla, good days and bad days but more good than bad. Keeping my chin up better days ahead.
