THR Hawai'i Healing Hipster

Oh @AgilityDog, even I have taken my Fitbit off for first few weeks. Hard to get accurate read while using walker. Don’t torture yourself! Early on you will have days when you walk more, other days less. It’s too easy to start looking at the numbers and wanting to increase further than our hips are ready. Listen to your body, not your gadget.

And yes, the bathroom does move further away. Same way my yard has gotten larger over the years. I know because it takes longer to mow it.

Good news your feeling improved today. I'll bet tomorrow you're even better!
Those bathroom trips will become easier and easier. Make a mental note of where you are this weekend
and you'll be surprised by comparison next weekend.
My clue as to when we have our sweet AD back is when your lil peeps filled posts begin reemerging.
Not there yet.....but I know it's coming!
A peaceful relaxing evening to you!
@AgilityDog

Aloha! There is a great search feature on BS. I'm even throwing coffee at the coffee maker, but it is not working for me. I probably am using the wrong word(s). I'm looking for info on ''Log Leg". I'm sure there's good info waiting for me?!

Oh log leg, I remember it well. That feeling like your leg is asleep and really can’t tell when you are stepping on foot? I was surprised with vety little of that feeling this time, but had lots with first hip. Can’t explain why. I think it comes from irritated nerves and swelling. It does subside but it can drive you crazy for a while.

Hey @AgilityDog, type in log leg and before you hit search, click “in all of bone smart” as search option. Stuff pops up.

The one thing I didn't have? How did I miss this? LOL

Good old log leg, when your leg feels heavy like a tree trunk and maybe even longer than the other too.
Thankfully it passes but it is an odd sensation no less.
How are you doing aside from the log leg?
Hopefully you're pain is well managed and ice is helping.
Hope you're resting comfortably @AgilityDog

Thank you all, Ladies! I guess that's what I received right after surgery. Sometimes I have to use the tie for a bathrobe to make my leg portable. Walking isn't bad, but that's about it. I cant walk all day. @Berber2772 , @Layla , @MammaT

Are you searching as one word or two? I think I've generally seen references in the forum as two words.

for me, the 3rd or 4th day was the hardest each time. I think part of it is you're starting to move more and you're more alert so you just start to notice every little thing and get frustrated because it's not better yet, darn it! It's also when bruising gets worse. Better days are coming! It will take time but you will get better and get your life back!

Hey, atta girl.....she's baaaack!
Your lovely humor and posts sprinkled with the lil peeps is the Agilty Dog we all know and love!

I hated that stupid log leg sensation too.....annoying!
It didn't seem to last very long, if I recall. I even envisioned it as some old dried out heavy clunky tree trunk.
Not a good look :heehee: Wanted it GONE!! Must have been the drugs, lol!
Hope your day is fab!

I found it by typing in log leg as two words.

Glad you have a decrease in pain @Agility dog. Keep taking meds on schedule. This is very important in early days. While you may not like the side effects,Newell managed pain aides the healing processs.

I believe I am done with activity for the day. I got my breakfast. Rested. Got dressed. Cleaned litter box. Got snack. Back to rest. Will let son fix my soup for lunch. He is picking up a few things for me from store and doing load of laundry. I shall supervise, in between naps.

@MammaT when was your surgery done?
